1964 Wolseley 1500 for sale Wolseley 1500 - Original Steel Wings, Simply Beautiful What a perfect car for the Summer months ahead of us. She really does turn heads. Finished in classic English white with red leatherette interior. Very classy. Very "English gentleman" Only 4 owners since 1964! Amazing. She Still has the original walnut wood inserts on each of the doors and dashboard. All of the wood is clean and unmarked. Absolutely everything works on her. Even the light at the end of the indicator stalk flashes after all of these years. Even the original flying "W" hood ornament is still here. All of the windows go up and down fine, the doors shut flush, all of the locks work properly, the original door lock covers on the front doors are still on her, the boot mechanism is perfect, the bonnet stay is perfect, wipers work, fans work, heater works, speakers work, lights work, indicators work. Exterior: This car does not have fibreglass panels like all of the cheap and battered ones. It has the original steel wings - a true sign of a well cared for car. Original Wolseley polished hub-caps are still on the car and are clean. Good Tyres. The chrome is good-fair all over. It does not need re-chroming (unless you intend on having it as a museum piece). Original flying "W" hood ornament. Original AA Badge, Wolseley 1500 boot badge, Wolseley grill badge, Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club emblem. The paint is in good order. Not perfect, but with a tiny amount of TLC this car could <b>...</b>

NB - I know these are actually WD2 and not WD1 as stated - slip of the tongue. Well, this is the latest project of mine, restoring these two lovelies. To be honest I was just hoping to get one of them working, as between them they seem to be able to make one serviceable engine. Maybe in future I'll get around to doing the other one, but I'll need a bit more mechanical nouse with these things than I have now.

In this video, my recently restored WDII drives a newly accquired Lucas C40 dynamo on a hastily improvised dynamo trolley. As yet, I have no voltage regulator or battery, but I was determined to do something with this set up - even if it was just to get a voltmeter needle to wave around. Once the aforementioned items have been obtained, there will be more footage to follow.

Well, I uploaded a video of this engine a few weeks ago after I serviced the magneto to get it running again. I've done a fair bit of work on it since then, although I am flying blind here having never owned or restored an engine of any sort before. Its running a bit irregularly, and perhaps a tad fast, I am still waiting for the water drain tube to come back from a friend, and the water jacket gasket has split in this video. Worst of all, one of the studs snapped while torquing up the head bolts, and so this run is made with four out of five head bolts in situ, and enough Hylomar to make the seal good. So, still a bit more work to do, but progress has been made. Oh, the trolley, yes, 'Bouncing Betty' needs a better trolley, I know ;)

This Wolseley Hornet took part in the Venniper Koninginnerit 2011 that was held on Sunday May 8 2011 departing from (and returning to) Nieuw-Vennep, Holland. The vehicle was built in 1930. The chassis was shipped to New Zealand, where it received it's coachwork. The car has been in the possesion of it's current owner - a Belgian gentleman - for the last ten years.

Hi all, Decided it was time for a Christmas crank up! Forget fairy lights, this is the way to do it : ) The engine nearest the camera (bright green) is a 1950 Wolseley WD8 and it is driving a 1937 Metropolitan Vickers 12Vdc 30AMP dynamo drawing a 7AMP load of 6 bulbs. The engine farthest from the camer is a 1941 Lister D type spec 26DH and it is driving a 24Vdv 9AMP GEC dynamo which was once part of a War Department generating set. My two recently restored Wolseley WDIIs run together on a cold afternoon in February 2012. These engines were destined for the scrapheap if they weren't sold - according to their ebay seller. So, having been interested in such things for years, I bought them, and the end result can be seen here. Unfortunately, my interest and enthusiasm for small engines is not matched by my experience or knowledge, and so I'm sure there are still a lot of things I have to learn and do with these engines. However, I'm happy with them so far. The grey one is 2¼hp, and the green is 1½hp. They are now back to their original colours. Wolseley stationary engine 1945 restoration

A video covering the restoration of my second Wolseley WDII. This one was a bit further on in the serial range than the previos effort, and so it was returned to its original green. This has been an easy restoration so far, and there was evidence of a previous overhaul from what must have been a pretty bad state. It runs quite irregularly, but Im sure setting the contact breaker and spark plug more optimally will help. A solution needs to be found for the water drain tube too. But for now, Im fairly happy with it.

Hi all, I decided as it was such a nice afternoon, I would get the Wolseley and water pump out for half an hour. This engine dates from 1950 and is a side valve petrol engine producing about 1.5hp at 700rpm. These engines were used on farms to power anything which needed an outside source of power. The pump is an old design but this one was made in 2004 and I got it brand new so it has run just a few hours from new. The video is quite long but I have tried to make it interesting so I hope you enjoy it.

In this video you see it being started and run, a "tacho" being used to check the speed and also my new oil cans. 1932 Wolseley Hornet sports with Swallow Coachbuilding body. Swallow was Sir William Lyons company before he formed Jaguar cars. He built side cars for motorcycles and progressed to sports bodies on other manufacturers chassis. I am just commencing the full restoration of this car and video its progress. I will build a new body as it has deteriorated so much.

Engine Start stationary vintage

The British composer Garnet Wolseley Cox (1874-1904) came from a military background - his father, Ambrose Wolseley Cox was a lieutenant in the Lancers, and Garnet (named after the Victorian general) was born in Ireland where his father was stationed. I know little about his life, except that his works were championed by Henry Wood in his Promenade Concerts (five of them were performed including two orchestral suites premiered in 1903 and (posthumously) 1907). One of his songs ('Those Azure Eyes') was performed in the 1901 and 1904 seasons by Wood's wife with Percy Pitt at the piano. After a lot of adjusting on the engine; Magneto, carburettor, valves etc... The engine was still running not right as it should be. I gave up. But after a lot of thinking what the problem is, i decided to fit a better inlet-gasket. The result is a very well running engine now:) Most of work on the engine is done now... Special thanks to Steve (hanglands) for sending gasket-paper!! and thanks for the help to other youtubers:)
