E! News' David Burtka Visits Backstage at WICKED
We had a very Spectacular guest visit WICKED backstage recently! E! News' own David Burtka had the full on WICKED experience with Mamie Parris ("Elphaba") and Katie Rose Clarke ("Glinda"). Not only did he get a chance to chat with our lovely witches of Oz...but he also took us on an amazing backstage tour to see the magic and we even get a little glimps of how we make "Glinda" fly! Doctor Who - Because I Knew You (For Good from Wicked)
A Doctor Who fanvid Doctor/Rose CREDITS Music: "For Good" from the musical Wicked Clips by: BBC Wales EPISODES Series 1: Rose, The End of the World (both in black & white), The Parting of the Ways. Series 2: Rise of the Cybermen, The Idiot's Lantern, The Impossible Planet, The Satan Pit, Army of Ghosts, Doomsday. ABOUT THE VID I went to see Wicked in London's West End with my school on the 11th of July. I knew none of the songs, nothing of the plot, only that it was about the Wicked Witch of the West - Elphaba - and Glinda the Good (if you've seen the musical, you'll know how very basic that is!). But I was enchanted by it, I laughed, I cried and I got goosebumps all up my arms from Kerry Ellis' fantastic singing. The song "For Good" is sung by Glinda and Elphaba near the end. It's a beautiful, poignant song about two friends saying goodbye, and is my favourite from the musical (except for, possibly, the astounding Defying Gravity). I thought that this song would fit for the Doctor and Rose's friendship because they've both changed through the times they've had together, for good. Rose is stronger, more grown up and so much wiser. The Doctor has changed his face to save her life, changed his ideas and beliefs and how he talks...and they both found love. I tried to paint a picture of their irreplaceable friendship in making this vid, and I hope I did it well :) NB Rose sings Glinda's lines and the Doctor sings Elphaba's lines.
