"The opening song from the 1987 album "In The Flesh".... i've always loved this track....." The Helicopters were a South African pop rock band active in the 1980s. They formed in 1981 in Vereeniging and were stylistically similar to the New Wave bands Duran Duran and A Flock of Seagulls. Benjy Mudie signed the group to Warner Bros. Records in 1984, where they released one album and several singles; in 1987 they moved to Epic and released a second full-length before disbanding. The band scored several hit singles in South Africa, including "Mysteries and Jealousy". The group was a popular concert draw, able to fill stadiums in its home country. After the band's breakup, lead singer Bernard Binns moved to England, where he has released several solo albums. Jochamim Witt - Tri-Tra-Trulalla Witt begann seine Karriere in den 1970er Jahren, als er unter dem Namen „Julian" die beiden Songs Ich bin ein Mann und Ich weiß, ich komm zurück veröffentlichte. Der Erfolg blieb aber aus. Später war er ein Mitglied der deutschen Rockband Duesenberg. Der große Durchbruch gelang Joachim Witt 1980 als Solokünstler in der Zeit der Neuen Deutschen Welle mit dem Lied Goldener Reiter aus dem Album Silberblick. (Witt leistete seinen Wehrdienst in der Theodor-Körner-Kaserne bei Lüneburg. Die Lüneburger Panzeraufklärer haben als Wappen den Goldenen Reiter). In den späten Neunzigern wandte er sich der so genannten Neuen Deutschen Härte zu. 1998 feierte er dann mit dem Album Bayreuth 1 sein Comeback. Ein besonders großer Erfolg dieses Albums war der Titel Die Flut, den Joachim Witt zusammen mit Peter Heppner, dem Sänger der Gruppe Wolfsheim, aufgenommen hatte und der den zweiten Platz der Charts erreichte. Während das nächste Album Bayreuth 2 noch erfolgreich war, verzeichneten seine Alben Eisenherz und Pop nur mäßige Verkaufszahlen. Zu seiner Szenenzuordnung muss erwähnt werden, dass er selbst sich niemals als Künstler der NDW bezeichnen würde. Er sagt von sich auch nicht, dass er in die schwarze Szene gehört, in der er inzwischen recht beliebt ist. Die Veröffentlichung von Bayreuth 3 Anfang 2006 schließt die Bayreuth-Trilogie ab. Mit Bayreuth 3 veröffentlicht Witt ein sehr politisches Album, auf dem er auf gesellschaftliche Missstände in der Welt <b>...</b>
