Window well standing water.
This video shows a standing water issue which the home owner didn't want to resolve the correct way. We ended up removing about 2 feet of hard soil from the bottom of the window well and filled with stones to help keep the standing water from the window sill area. A poorly installed down spout was the main reason for the water entering the well. We also repaired the down spout and corrected part of the issue. A drain is needed in window wells which ties into the drain tile system on the perimeter of the building and either drains into the sump pump system or directly into the outgoing sewer line.

On May 8, 2009 another inspector from the New York City Department of Mental Health and Hygiene inspected the basement and backyard are of 774 9th Ave. Upon the inspection, standing water was found in the sewer line trap and in buckets where rain water is purposely collected to later mop the common areas of the building with. Standing water in the spring through fall is a violation of New York City law due to the West Nile Virus and supposedly a summons/fine will be placed on Kizner Associates for $1600 per occurrence. Also upon the inspection on May 8, 2009, more dead and rotting rodents were discovered after neglectful attempts to clean the basement had sort of been attempted. No holes or traps had been cleaned or repaired either. This inspector also discovered that the concrete/rock/dirt floor had a system of rat burrows running the entire length of the building and that the pathetic attempts at rodent control actually violate several rodent control ordinances. Creepy Crawl Space Under House
When buying a home, there's always the creepy crawl space under the house that needs to be inspected. Tuesday January 3 2012 Wind speeds and gusts ranging from storm force 10 to hurricane force 12, torrential rain and a freezing wind chill factor is not everyone's idea of a good time on at the beach. It would have been perfect if I hadn't forgot to bring my water resistant boots and drysuit. With forecasts predicting gales and light rain my friend Cliff and I decided to head out to our local beach for some buggy action in an attempt to beat our personal best speeds. Unfortunately the condition of the beach was very poor and pretty unusable due to standing water and shallow gullies. The kite was extremely over-powered too, although it settled down nicely when once on the move. The maximum recommended wind speed for the 5m Best Warro is 40mph. Because of the standing water we were unable to power the kite up for fear of aquaplaning or bouncing off the gullies at high speed.
