Free Tab Benoit wallpaper: tabbenoit.com Tab Benoit is a Cajun man who's definitely got the blues. Born November 17, 1967, he grew up in Houma, Louisiana. A guitar player since his teenage years, he hung out at the Blues Box, a ramshackle music club and cultural center in nearby Baton Rouge run by guitarist Tabby Thomas. Playing guitar alongside Thomas, Raful Neal, Henry Gray and other high-profile regulars at the club, Benoit learned the blues first-hand from a faculty of living blues legends. The nightly impromptu gigs were enough to inspire Benoit to assemble his own band -- a stripped down bass-and-drums unit propelled by his solid guitar skills and leathery, Cajun-spiced vocal attack. He took his show on the road in the early '90s and hasn't stopped since. Benoit landed a recording contract with the tiny, Texas-based Justice Records and released a series of well-received recordings, beginning in 1992 with Nice and Warm, an album that prompted comparisons to blues guitar heavyweights like Albert King, Albert Collins and even Jimi Hendrix. Despite the hype, Benoit has done his best over the years to maintain a commitment to his Cajun roots -- a goal that often eluded him when past producers and promoters tried to turn him and his recordings in a rock direction, often against his better instincts. These Blues Are All Mine, released on Vanguard in 1999 after Justice folded, marked a return to the rootsy sound that he'd been steered away from for several years.

.458 SOCOM "Hogzilla" Taofledermaus on Sons of Guns?
A couple months ago I was approached by the producers of Discovery's "Son of Guns" tv show about using some of my Youtube footage in an upcoming episode. I really don't know if my clip will make it into the upcoming "Hogzilla" episode or not, and couldn't tell you which clip they might use. Sons of Guns is an interesting "reality" type show (often a little over-the-top in melodrama IMHO) about a gun shop called "Red Jacket Firearms". In real-life, the owner Will Hayden is facing some legal trouble and actually lost his gun manufacturer license and is currently using one of his employee's license for now. I'm sure you can read more about this with a Google search. It's entirely possible Hayden will be jailed in the near future. This may be the last season of Sons of Guns. I tuned all his giutars standard (440 hz), always with GHS 11's (custom gauge with a heavier big E string), and his guitar always went straight into a Super Reverb and a Music Man 2 x 12"... Later, a Twin Reverb was used instead of the Music Man amp. This was before he got the Category 5 signature amps. The 70's silverface Super Reverb was his main amp, and my favorite tone (vol anywhere from 4 - 9 depending on the venue, treb 7 - 9, mid 6 - 8, bass 3 - 4, reverb 2 - 4)... The settings vary from gig to gig. The other amps were always added just for a little extra power and low end, again depending on the size of the stage and show. I've seen him use just the Super at "Stevie Rays" in Louisville, KY, and at the end of the night the volume was almost on 4. It was a smaller club, but he had the same sound still. OC Smith (June 21, 1932November 23, 2001) was an American musician. Born Ocie Lee Smith in Mansfield, Louisiana, Smith moved with his parents to Little Rock, Arkansas, before their divorce saw Smith and his mother move to Los Angeles, California. After completing a psychology degree at Southern University, Smith joined the Air Force, and served throughout the US, Europe and Asia. While in the Air Force, Smith began entering talent contests and toured with Horace Heidt. On his discharge in July 1955, Smith went into jazz music to pay the bills. Smith gained his first break as a singer with Sy Oliver and made an appearance on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts. His success on that show led to a recording contract with Cadence Records. Smith's debut release was a cover of the Little Richard hit "Tutti Frutti" in December 1955. The song was not a hit, but convinced MGM Records to sign Smith to a solo contract, resulting in three more releases, but still no hits. In 1961, Smith was recruited by Count Basie to be his vocalist, a position he held until 1965. He also continued to record with different labels, but a hit remained elusive. By 1968, Smith's then label, Columbia Records, was ready to release him from his recording contract, when he entered the charts for the first time with "Son of Hickory Holler's Tramp", which reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart[1] and also broke the Top 40 in the United States.
