This is a video of my version of setting a rabbit snare...I was inspired to make this video and other videos, from a video I took of my father setting one last season. Check out my videos "Making a Rabbit Snare" and "Snaring Rabbits - Checking Rabbit Snares" The proof is in the pudding. It works! When searching for an area to snare, if there is no snow, rabbit droppings are a great indicator of the presence of rabbits. The droppings are about the same size and shape of the candy "smarties", with a grainy texture. You can also secure your snares to available cover if it is next to the area you selected to set the snare, rather than cutting and tieing to a tree limb. Snare Hieght Off Ground: 3 inches (lower limit)... 8 inches (upperlimit) These ranges should cover most sizes of rabbit...Adjust for your individual situation. I hope you watch and enjoy all my vids. I took this video for a simple demonstration regarding my spin off the most basic of rabbit snares. I have caught many rabbits (technically hares) and even a possum or two using this simple mechanism. I have had good luck even without any sort of spring to tighten the wire, but as I say in the video, I prefer the additional security. Be sure to check local hunting and trapping regulations before setting any trap or snare. I am back at home now, and will be working on videos of some new PyroDirect products shortly. This is how I made a cajon that sounds just as good as one that costs $150 for probably around $30-40! It also has an adjustable snare unlike many! The Snare wires are snare drum snares cut in half. You can get them for $15 at a guitar store. The slot for the arm was also cut out using a jigsaw. USE A COMPASS!!! If you don't have one, make one out of string! your slot will not allow easy sliding if it is not perfectly curved. That big block of wood behind the slot covers the slot so at no point can you see in the cajon from there. The url for the dimensions is www.wikihow.com however, the top and bottom are shorter in depth to allow a flat back to be put on. Make sure to use 1/8 in plywood for the front. It will not sound as good any thicker. Feel free to comment if you have any questions. Update: I now have a demonstration video uploaded!
