I made this in response to the lack of good shoegaze demos on YouTube. That's not to say this is the best there will ever be, as you can tell, but I feel it's a start if you're looking to get into playing shoegaze guitar. This is a remake of the first video I did, which I felt didn't adequately address how to achieve a nice shoegaze tone. This time around I wanted to do it with less modeling/built-in effects from my practice amp, hence the introduction of the reverb pedal. Plus the video/sound quality was nothing to write home about. Rundown of my gear/settings: - Fender Jaguar Classic Player Special HH - Boss Digital Delay DD-3 with all settings at "12" - Boss Super Chorus CH-1 with "Rate" at "12" and the rest at maximum - Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Nano set to "Spring" at maximum reverb - Roland Micro Cube with maximum tone and gain on the "JC Clean" setting. Riding the delays a bit on the clean channel of the Koch Powertone, using the tc electronic G-System to get the effects, next to the DMM and BOSS RV-5. Hello everybody. It's been a while since I've posted an actual song, but hopefully the wait has been worth it. I've been writing this track for a couple of weeks now and finally did a bit of a rough mix today in Reaper. There's still a long way to go on this one but I'm pretty happy with where it's at. If you're wondering who is doing the vocals, it's yours truly :D I'm really hearing my Cocteau Twins & Fields of the Nephilim influences here - two of my all time favorite artists. As for the title of the track, it came about after I drew the Judgment card a couple of weeks ago. I interpreted this occurence as a call to get creative and resurrect my musical spirit once more! Now that I have my Morpheus pedal, I'm able to emulate a bass guitar, which is very cool. I basically just plugged my SG into the Tone Port through the Morpheus pedal and used the Sub Dub patch that came with my bass expansion pack. In order to make some good music, the former of the band, Inai (vocal), Budi(bass), Kutil (guitar), Baron (guitar) and Onos (drum) decided to make a band based on several kinds of music they like. At 2004 they had a lot of changes. Kutil decided to leave the band, followed also by two other members, Baron and Onos. Inai and Budi, as they quoted from Thom Yorke's line: "stick with the band", claimed the band and recruited Vian (guitar), Bayu (drum) and Aduy (guitar) to keep the band exist. In the end of 2004, they prepared their first Extended Play's, but unexpectedly, Bayu decided to leave the band. Finally, the first EP's, intro released in the rainy December of 2005. They had to promote the EP's without any drummer. Surprisingly, one of Aduy's friend in college named Oscar-who had a long time desire to the band- wanted to replace Bayu as a drummer and finally joined the band. Later on, in a same week, their additional player, Ngging, who composed the strings and synth's on the first EP's, literally joined the band. As the youngest, Vian, Aduy, Oscar and Ngging brought the new taste. The impact of these youthful ones re-informed the band's atmosphere into something deep and bright. But by having a bad behavior and violence ngging has been dropped out by the band in the next year when the band prepare for the next EP's exactly just one year <b>...</b>
