How to Install Nookie Froyo (Android 2.2) on the Nook Color
[READ- Market Fix in Description] In this video, I'll demonstrate how you can successfully install Nookie Froyo, or Android 2.2 onto your Nook Color. This comes with the Android Market, Gmail, Adobe Reader, Dolphin Browser Mini, Dropbox, ROM Manager, and the Terminal Emulator pre-installed. If you want Adobe Flash, simply download Flash 10.2 from the Android Market. *Note: If apps are not downloading from the Android Market, follow these steps: 1) Go to Settings-- Applications-- Manage applications-- All (It's a tab on top)-- Google Services Framework (You might have to scroll down a bit) Tap on Clear data-- ok. Then tap on "Force stop." 2) Once you force stop "Google Services Framework," press the back arrow and search for "Market." Tap on Market-- Clear data-- ok. Then tap "force stop." 3) Open up the ROM Manager Application. (If you get a message saying the SD Card is not mounted, just tap ok.) 4) While in ROM Manager, tap on "Fix Permissions." (This could take a minute or two to finish.) Travis Orbin - "Nookie" Recording Session
Since SEA's headlining tour is jokingly dubbed 'The New Nu-Metal Tour,' we decided to do a rendition of Limp Bizkit's "Nookie". This video showcases some highlights from the drum tracking session. I tracked the drums in my buddy Taylor's new studio. The first segment is the chorus. I stuck pretty close to what John Otto performed on the album. The audio doesn't sync at the end because we tracked the loop separately for a supremely mechanical feel. Next is the prechorus ("like a chump, 'eyyy!"). Again, the audio doesn't sync with the video because of the decision -- after the fact -- to paste the loop. Afterwards is the first part of the bridge. I improvised all of the fills. We did a couple of passes but kept the first take for the spontaneity factor. The second part of the bridge is all about straight-ahead groove and POWER. I also improvised the big fill at the end. Finally, we have outro soloistic bits. Please excuse the sloppiness but it was about 3AM (we got a late start, heh) and about half of the fills were improvised. Update 2/2, the rest are: Los Fabulosos Cadillacs' "Manuel Santillán..." and Korn's "Thoughtless". Not a big fan of Limp Bizkit. I know their hits and really really like John Otto's and Wes Borland's way of playing; I enjoy Sam Rivers' bass lines... but I really hate Fred Durst. In my humble opinion, they'd be a far better band without him... ...please remember that's my opinion.
