Houdini Milk Can Escape - Royal Lichtenstein Circus
The Royal Lichtenstein Circus - under the direction of Nick Weber - presents a reinaction of Houdini's famous and dangerous Milk Can Escape. John Hadfield performs the escape. Cast members Paul Hadfield, Joe Colon and Nina Gray assist. Shortly before this performance, the truck carrying props was in a fire, and the milk can warped just enough to make the lid difficult to put on, adding about 15 seconds to the breath holding time.

Alexanderia the Great's Modern Day Houdini Milk Can Escape
Alexanderia the Great, the female reincarnation of Houdini, attempts the impossible. I will do my version of Harry Houdini's famous Milk Can escape. Harry Houdini would escape from an ordinary Milk Can padlocked shut and filled with water. A death defying escape from an ordinary recycle bin. The recycling bin will be filled with water. The cover will have two small holes cut where my hands will be forced through. I will be submerged underwater in the bin with the cover locked down in chains and two padlocks. My hands will be shackled tightly by two audience members above my head and through the cover in plain sight. Unlike Houdini, who did his escape from behind a curtain, I will attempt to escape in full view of the audience. This will be the first time a women has ever attempted a Milk Can escape in full view. I will have to escape the shackles on my hands and then pick the padlocked lid and padlocked chains to escape. How long will it take to escape all? How long can I hold her breath? See if you can hold your breath with me. Start practicing! Will I escape in time?

The Underwater Cell (UC) Alexanderia the Great Attempts a Full View Houdini Milk Can Escape
Escape artist Alexanderia the Great, attempts to escape from her version of one of Harry Houdini's most famous escapes the Milk Can At Lydia's Carnival Sideshow in Salem MA at Life and Death. Alexanderia puts her own twist making it a "signature escape" called the Underwater Cell. She calls it "UC" because 'you see' everything." Houdini in the Milk Can was shackled, squeezed into a narrow steel container, the lid was padlocked shut and most importantly a curtain was lowered while he made his escapes. The curtain hid the method of escape. By contrast, Alex will enter a small glass cube (see through) that is filled with water and has openings for her hands, which re shackled and padlocked. A lid is then locked on top of the transparent cube, trapping her underwater. The BIG difference here is no curtain will be lowered so all can see that she her at all times. Houdini said Failure means a drowning death. You will clearly see this to be true. How will she escape? Watch and see for yourself. Note for this attempt the tank because of a problem at the venue had to be filled with bone chilling 52 degree water making this attempt even more dangerous given the difficulty in holding ones breath in such ice cold water. Milk Can Dinner. There was soooo much leftover food! It was delicious! The pork roast was cooked all the way through but it was not falling apart. Also, next time maybe less beer. I guess since it was enclosed and steaming there could have been alot less liquid...Can't wait to try it again!
