Medieval Warriors in a Campground in Pennsylvania
For two weeks every summer, a campground in the US state of Pennsylvania is transformed into a medieval village where people dress and act as if they were living back in the middle ages. There are tournaments, musical performances and, perhaps most importantly, battles in nearby fields just for the honor and glory of it all. Our correspondent, Zorislav Baydyuk, reports on the Pennsic War -- a blend of the words Pennsylvania and Punic. Here is his report, as narrated by Julia Taboh.

Tewkesbury celebrated the 25th anniversary of its famous medieval festival by making it the biggest and best ever. "Armour" Piercing with Medieval-style Arrows - Video 14
The modern day debate over whether or not arrows penetrated medieval armour in the 14th and 15th centuries is one that is conducted by those "for" and "against" with almost as much passion as the combatants on the fields of Crecy, Poitiers and Agincourt fought during the Hundred Years War. What cannot be ignored by either side is that there are contemporary records from eye witnesses to these battles and others, that record both arrows penetrating plate armour, and of arrows bouncing off. No reasonable person should claim that arrows either always defeated plate, or always glanced off. To do so would be naïve at best. Our video aims neither to prove nor dispel these accounts. It is to be viewed with an open mind and for you to take as you please. All we ask is that you keep in mind the following points: 1. The bows we are shooting are at the lower end of the poundage medieval archers would have used during the period that concerns us. The finds from the wreck of the Mary Rose prove that the medieval longbow used by the military archer, typically referred to as the Warbow, would more likely have been around 120lbs draw weight, and possibly more. 2. The heads on the arrows we are shooting have not been sharpened nor hardened, as was often the case in medieval times. 3. The carbon content of the steel we are shooting at is higher than the average medieval armour, and therefore tougher. 4. The armour of a medieval knight would have been thickest on the breastplate and the <b>...</b>

Making Replica Medieval Arrows - Video 8
A step-by-step look at how I make 1/2" medieval-style arrows for use with a heavy poundage English Longbow. The heads shown in the video are hand forged by Hector Cole and John Marshall. El trazado urbano es sinuoso e irregular, existiendo a veces zonas despobladas. Las ciudades tienen diferentes barrios, que agrupan a la población en función de su procedencia, su religión o su actividad. El desarrollo económico de algunas urbes, especialmente las dedicadas al comercio, hizo que se construyeran nuevas áreas. En éstas, las viviendas podÃan alcanzar dos o tres plantas. El centro de la vida urbana lo ocupa la plaza, en la que se sitúan los edificios más representativos. Estos son altos, realizados en piedra, con balcones que se abren a la calle. Un escudo, también en piedra, indica que sus portadores pertenecen a un noble linaje. De la plaza parte un sinfÃn de calles, algunas estrechas y tortuosas, siempre ocupadas por una intensa actividad. En ellas se desarrollaba buena parte de la vida diaria de la comunidad: comprar, vender, pasear, relacionarse... Sin duda, el mercado era el centro económico y social de la población. Minecraft Medieval City
This is my medieval minecraft city. I started out building the cathedral but seeing it tower over empty landscape I decided it could use some company. This city is still a work in progress, as I will add walls, a castle and a larger harbor. All the buildings are based on real-life buildings in my area. They're mostly 13th to 14th century, so that would make them late middle ages, some early renaissance. The Sims Medieval Review - Lazy Game Reviews
What is The Sims Medieval, really? How different is it from other Sims games? Is it worth buying? Find out in this video review! EXTRA NOTE: One thing I wasn't sure if I should mention in the review was the way the game "endings" happen - if you don't want spoilers, don't read this. After your kingdom ambition is completed and your kingdom is practically fully-upgraded with lots of high-level heroes, you are forced to start over with a new kingdom to continue playing. While you can choose one of your successful heroes to take over as the new monarch in an extra (and optional) quest, I really wish you could have continued with your original kingdom. You can either play the old one in "free mode" or you must make a new one and possibly do many of the same quests over again, re-building and re-creating everything again with every new kingdom ambition. Not exactly a "flaw", but while I think I understand why they did this, it's a questionable design decision and not exactly ideal to me. EXTRA EXTRA NOTE: Many of the complaints I had about the game have been fixed as of patch 1.3 on April 30th. Notes: New Feature: Free Play Ambition - Set up your perfect kingdom without worrying about long term goals. Medieval Style Musket Ball Shooting Slingshot Crossbow
The Slingshot Channel has presented many slingshot crossbows already, but all have been rather long and narrow. This one is different, as it is following the medieval crossbow design by a great deal. The main differences is that rubber bands are used instead of a steel spring, and heavy lead balls are used as ammo rather than bolts. It is amazing how effective rubber is, with just 48 lbs of draw force , 38 foot pounds of energy are achieved. The 576 gr (36 gramm) lead ball (.75") flies at 177 feet per second.
