From Wikipedia: "Madrigal" is a song performed by progressive rock band Yes. It is featured as track number 3 in their 1978 album Tormato. The song was written by Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman, and features an string arrangement made by Andrew Pryce Jackman, an original idea of Rick Wakeman. The song features a clavichord in its entireness and vocals made by Anderson. Being a quite artistic song, it does not match much with the rest of the album, due to its simplicity of just one instrument, minimum Synthesizer notes, a string arrangement just hearable in the end of every verse, and vocals. Songs such as Release, Release give Tormato the sound everybody was alike to hear of Yes albums. Zoltan Kodaly - Four Italian Madrigals (1932)
Zoltán Kodály (Hungarian: Kodály Zoltán, December 16, 1882 - March 6, 1967) was a Hungarian composer, ethnomusicologist, educator, linguist, and philosopher. Four Italian Madrigals (1931-32) 1. Chi vuo veder (Matteo di Dino Frescobaldi 14th cent.) 2. Fior scoloriti (Matteo M. Boiardo conte di Scandiano, 15th cent.) 3. Chi d'amor sente (Ser Giovanni Fiorentino, 14th cent.) 4. Fuor de la bella calba (Anon. 14th cent.) Vally Toscanini, daughter of the great Italian conductor, was married in Budapest in January 1931. Kodaly was asked act as witness, and his wedding present was a madrigal to a poem by the 14th century poet Giovanni Fiorentino (Chi d'amor sente). The other, shorter love madrigal among the four is to a poem by Matteo di Dino Frescobaldi (Chi vuoi veder), and presumably dates from the same period. In the following year Kodaly rounded the pieces out into a cycle by adding two more settings, of a poem by the 15th century poet Matteo Maria Boiardo (Fior scoloriti) and one by an anonymous 14th century poet (Fuor de la bella calba). Kodaly's thorough literary knowledge made him at home in this world that is so alien to Hungarian folksong. He makes use of the many devices of imitation technique, canon construction and picturesque part-leading to interpret the texts, which are all typical madrigals of their period. As the Italian conductor Vittorio Gui said, Kodaly, in these 14th century poems, "perfectly sensed the music of the Italian people."

I'm not about to sue you. Few things inspire me to make videos. Halo is one of those Few things. An Ad came out recently for Halo 3, and it brought me to tears of joy. I decided to do an omage to all three trailers that have been released within the last year or so, that deal with Halo. It's actually my favourite work to date. You'll notice this song is not really "from" any halo game, but it does make a star appearance in Halo. From my memory I believe it was created for the game "Myth" (another bungie title). I wanted to give a sense to everyone that watches that this is the Master Chief, this is Halo. I also added that ending in to show that neither song clashes, and actually, maybe Bungie might look at this and think "Wow, let's give him a million dollars for this thing and turn it into a commercial." Ulver- Hymn I: Of Wolf and Fear
The first track from Norway's prolific experimetal band Ulver's 1996 concept album "Nattens madrigal - Aatte hymne til ulven i manden", translated: "Madrigal of the Night - Eight Hymns to the Wolf in Man". The album is rife with lycantropic themes, each track beginning with "Of Wolf and". Later, the band strayed away from their black and folk metal roots and developed a more ambient/experimental sound. Ulver is a personal favorite of mine and for good reason: Innovation. No two Ulver albums are alike. In 2000, after releasing the ambient-sounding "William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" in 1998, Ulver had lost virtually all identity with the black metal scene marked by the release of the electronica-toned "Perdition City", very different from this album, but still worth a listen to.
