Middle Path a compromise says Lobsang Sangay: Interview Part 1

INTERVIEW WITH THE TIBETAN PRIME MINISTER DESIGNATE LOBSANG SANGAY. Jyoti Kamal: Mr Lobsang Sangay , you will be the most powerful prime minister that Tibet has ever seen in its entire history in fact. So how does this responsibility sit on your shoulders? Lobsang Sangay: Well, I don't see it from the perspective of power but as a responsibility that the Tibetan people have entrusted in me and I take it as an honor and a privilege to serve Tibetan people and obviously it's a huge, huge responsibility, and it is of Himalayan proportion, but we will start climbing gradually but still in the end we will reach the mountain top. Jyoti Kamal: As you were campaigning for this post, because you had campaigned in the Indian American style basically, going around and meeting people, something which other Tibetan leaders before you have not done...so as you were going around the country there were a lot many people who said what they said they want from you is freedom for Tibet, what does that mean, what kind of freedom? Lobsang Sangay: You are right, actually, I kind of introduced the Indian American campaigning style by going to the people and sharing my ideas...and the overwhelming kind of response from the people was that I should serve his holiness the dalai lama well and work for his return to Lhasa and restore freedom in Tibet freedom means individual basic freedom, collective freedom, but not necessarily freedom of a nation or country, so that's what we are striving for so ...

"THE STRUGGLE" - A short film by Lobsang Tenzin

The "Wandering View" of Director/Artist Lobsang Tenzin ... "The Struggle" is a short film I made few years ago. It was screened only once, at the World Film Festival 2002 (Montreal). For me it is a good example of what can be done with a clear vision and a focused production team. The film's story was exceptional, and it was an unknown true reflection of the amorality that created the Holocaust. The events had been revealed to me ten years earlier by the main character, Reverend Hull, during a flight from Tel Aviv to New York. The Reverend, (in his late 80s) was seated next to me and while we exchanged tales, we became fast friends. I was spellbound by his experience of being one of the three official witnesses to the execution of Adolf Eichmann, and completely blown away by his efforts to compel humanity's #1 criminal to change his views on his crimes. I promised the Reverend to one day make a film about those moments and he happily pointed me to the transcripts of the visits he had with Eichmann with the hope to eventually share the exceptional moments with the world. My view through the camera, as the artistic transducer, was as may be viewed by our collective consciousness ,,, anywhere and all at once. (or maybe God's POV) The film's screening provoked much discussion on all kinds of things, from the nature of evil to the sad state of western religious philosophy. ... made the film almost for nothing, but with huge help from family, friends and colleagues. We needed ...
