Computerhistory.org has a Model B dated 1965, and I've seen a ~1967 Model C written up in a magazine. (Interestingly, incorrectly identified as being only 110 baud.) Even better than seeing it in a museum, I decide to hook the trusty Model A up and make it talk to something. After some trial and error, I manage to get it to talk to a terminal server at work and use it to connect to a linux box. It's ALIVE! After installing the new Rockford Fosgate T2500.1bd CP amps in this Tahoe last week, i was trying to figure out what sort of demo i could do with them. So i decided to make a few paper-shred video's with the port. While we were doing that we decided to toss some other stuff in the port to see what would happen. I had some blank CD's layin' around so i decided to see what would happen if i put one by the port. I found it was very hard to hold on to and actually was ripped out of my hand a short time after putting it near the opening. This led me to get a few people to see if THEY could hold the CD. My boy Charles came by and i decided to see if he could do it. Then some other people came by for a demo and i decided to let them try also. You can see the results are pretty predictable. Its hard to show you the kind of wind coming out of that port over the internet but this is one of the best ways i have found, short of putting my head in. Anyway, as usual, we are just having a little fun...because thats what this is all about. *******NOTE********* if you look close you can see some staples showing in the rear trim piece. Those are NOT visible usually but the bass kept making it pop backwards enough for them to show. This is what you see when you see us holding on to it and pushing it back in. After installing the new CP amps the other day, i planned on securing that but i forgot to. So it doesnt look like crap usually, just when the bass pulls all the stuff apart. It will be <b>...</b>

ABSTRACT VOIP and teleconferencing often perform much more poorly on today's Internet than the Internet of a decade ago, despite great gains in bandwidth. Lots of fiber, cheap memory, smart hardware, variability of wireless thoughput, changes in web browser behaviour, changes in TCP implementations, and a focus on benchmarking Internet performance solely by bandwidth, and engineer's natural reluctance to drop packets have conspired to encourage papering over problems by adding buffers; each of which may introduce latency when filled. Buffering mistakes have been made in all technologies: operating systems, home routers both wired and wireless, broadband equipment, corporate networks, 3G networks and parts of the core Internet itself. The mistaken quest to never drop packets has destroyed interactivity under load, and often results in actual higher packet loss, as TCP's congestion avoidance algorithms have been defeated by these buffers.
