Leonard Cohen - Avalanche (Live)

Best Version (+ Lyrics) --- Zürich 1993: Blossoms of Heaven, Ashes of Hell (Bootleg Album) --- I stepped into an avalanche, It covered up my soul; When I am not this hunchback that you see, I sleep beneath the golden hill. You who wish to conquer pain, You must learn to serve me well. You strike my side by accident As you go down for your gold. The cripple here that you clothe and feed Is neither starved nor cold; He does not ask for your company, Not at the centre of the world. When I am on this pedestal, You did not raise me there. Your laws do not compel me To kneel grotesque and bare. I myself am the pedestal for this ugly hump at which you stare, stare, stare,... You who wish to conquer pain, You must learn what makes me kind; The crumbs of love that you offer me, They're the crumbs I've left behind. Your pain is no credential here, just the shadow of my wound. I have begun to long for you, I who have no greed; I have begun to wait for you, I who have no need. You say you've gone away from me, But I can feel you when you breathe. Do not dress in those rags for me, I know you're not poor; You don't love me quite so fiercely now When you know that you are not sure, This is your world, beloved, It is your flesh that I wear. --------

Give 'Em Hell Talib Kweli EarDrum Version

Talib Kweli's remake of his slam poetry piece 'Hell' featured in Russel Simmons 'Def Poetry Jam' LYRICS BELOW featuring artists: Coi Mattison & Lyfe Jennings The song is listed in his album 'EarDrum' and is signed to Warner Bros. Records Lyrics Every Sunday dressing up, catching gossip at its worst. Couldn't see the difference in the Baptist and the Catholic Church. Caught up in the rapture of the first chapter and second verse, If we all god's children then what's the word of the reverend worth? Taught early that faith is blind like justice when you facing time, If we all made in god's image then that means his face is mine. Wait or is that blasphemy? it's logical it has to be, If I don't look like my father then the way I live is bastardly, Naturally that's confusion to a young'n trying to follow christ, Taught that if you don't know jesus then you lead a hollow life. Never question the fact that jesus was jewish not a christian, Or that christianity was law according to politicians. who was King James? And why did he think that it was so vital to remove chapters and make his own version of the bible? They say hell is underground, heaven is in the sky they say that's where you go when you die, but how they know? I've been to many churches, I've quoted many verses, I've dealt with my base self, I controlled my many urges. She is so fucked up And it freaks me out She is so messed up Always finds something to worry about She cries on cue Aint that a sad thing to do? She is so fucked up She's a constant source of pain Now I decide to fuck her further up And flush my past down the drain I'm on the edge from too much thinking I'm on the verge of dying of too much drinking I'm a poem with no rhyme I'm a victim of a crime I'm a writer with no pen Desperately searching for ways to write again Could someone please unlock my heart? Cause I'm caught in a tragic spell She's my favorite work of art My own personal hell She cries on cue Aint that a sad thing to do? I'm a poem with no rhyme I'm a victim of a crime I'm a writer with no pen Desperately searching for ways to write again So she's seeing another man I'm not lost; I just don't know who the hell I am I'm on the edge from too much thinking I'm on the verge of dying of too much drinking I'm a poem with no rhyme I'm a victim of a crime I'm a writer with no pen Desperately searching for ways to write again

A Poem

A reading of a poem I wrote: Choose Well I started out my journey A destination clear in mind Adventure, success and excitement Was what I was sure to find My travels took me far and wide The progress though sometimes slow And the longer it took to move ahead The larger my baggage would grow With every challenge and obstacle The harder I would struggle and strive I came to expect the hardships And my expectation diminished my drive I then found myself at an impasse Unable to move ahead But it wasn't the path that blocked my way It was my baggage that had stopped me dead The road ahead was unobstructed It was my beliefs that held me back If I would only drop my baggage I would find myself on track I had to make a decision How would I live my life? As an easy going experience Or one full of pain and strife? So I repacked my belongings And left behind what I didn't have to take The choice was rather simple Once I understood it was mine to make I now move ahead unencumbered It's not necessary to travel through Hell For life is simply a choice my friend Just let go and choose well

A Meeting in Hell...

The Price of Being too Busy .... As we move forward into 2012, please remember, it is very easy for us to get so distracted and consumed in our daily lives that we tend to forget why we are here. Sit back and take time to reflect on your life. Ask yourself, who is driving and controlling my life? Is it you...?? Or is it someone or something else..? Think about it. Do not consume your life with so many things (no matter how good they make you feel) that it distracts and takes away time from you and Christ. Make time for yourself, make time for your family... but most important, make time for your Savior and maintain that vital connection throughout your day. Thank you for watching this video and pass it along if it spoke to your heart. God Bless Price of being too Busy. Questions about this video , please leave comment. The Dishwasher: Vampire Smiles (Xbox360) Soundtrack - Fallen Engineer's From Hell (Boss Battle)

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is the sequel to the highly acclaimed 2009 Xbox Live Arcade 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up hit The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai by Ska Studios. Players assume the roles of The Dishwasher along with his stepsister Yuki in two separate solo campaigns, as they battle through legions of enemies and try to unravel the secrets of their pasts. Though little is known about the storyline of the game as of yet, in the Announcement Trailer a poem is recited by a female voice, possibly Yuki's. During the poem she mentions three beings: The Banker, The General and The Judge. The poem ends with a promise: "Banker, General and Judge - you all shall burn in hell". This indicates that perhaps the story will feature (similar in tone to its predecessor) as a quest for revenge against these three beings. The game was showcased at the PAX East 2010 convention

Peter Doherty - Suicide In The Trenches (Live)

Suicide in the Trenches is a poem by Siegfried Sassoon, written during his First World War military service and published in 1918. Lyrics: ------------- I knew a simple soldier boy..... Who grinned at life in empty joy, Slept soundly through the lonesome dark, And whistled early with the lark. In winter trenches, cowed and glum, With crumps and lice and lack of rum, He put a bullet through his brain. And no one spoke of him again. You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you'll never know The hell where youth and laughter go.

Hell is real- my testimony vision from the Holy Spirit

Hell is real, I asked God to show me hell because I needed to be sure. Last night God answered my prayers and showed me a glimpse of hell because I was too afraid to face it. hell is indeed a horrible place that I would never ever want to be in neither should you. If you are not saved, repent, turn yourself away from sin, and ask God to clease you with the blood of Jesus and ask the Holy Spirit to come into your life. With the Holy Spirit and prayers you will be able to overcome anything that seems impossible.

Poem--"Life"

I'm sick and I'm working on rewriting a prospectus for a class (which my computer dumped or didn't save or whatever), so since I'm not sleeping, I thought I'd post this quick video. Just a short poem I wrote for a class I'm taking. We came up with seven words and we had to use five of them in a poem on any subject. This rewrite only contains four of the words: "destruction," "longing," "lust," and "eel." Originally "dance" was in there somewhere, too, but I changed it to "chance." Anyway, I like this for the most part, though I think it gets weaker as it goes on. Also, the line breaks are hard to see, so for the most part, anywhere you see a capital at the beginning of a line, that is the next line of the poem, which was written in iambic pentameter (like all of my poems). Constructive criticism is welcomed.

Bette Davis and Pat O'Brien in Hell's House (1932 Movie)

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org Hell's House is a 1932 American drama film directed by Howard Higgin. The screenplay by Paul Gangelin and B. Harrison Orkow, set during the waning days of the Prohibition era, is based on a story by Higgin. When orphaned Jimmy Mason is taken in by his Aunt Emma and Uncle Henry, he meets their boarder Matt Kelly, who impresses the young man with his boastful swagger and alleged political connections, although in reality he's a bootlegger. The boy's life is disrupted when, as one of Kelly's hired hands, he refuses to identify his boss during a police raid and is sentenced to three years of hard labor in reform school, where he befriends a sickly boy named Shorty, who eventually is sent to solitary confinement. When Jimmy realizes his new pal is seriously ill and desperately needs medical attention, he escapes and goes to Kelly and Kelly's girl friend, Peggy Gardner, for help. Peggy contacts newspaper columnist Frank Gebhardt, who is anxious to expose the conditions at the state industrial school. The authorities find Jimmy at Gebhardt's office, but before they can apprehend him Kelly admits his involvement in the bootlegging operation and the boy is set free. He discovers Shorty has died, victimized by a corrupt system. The film, shot in thirteen days, originally was entitled Juvenile Court. The poem and statment at end says it all. My dilemma is I am Bipolar and althought I have been off medications and away from doctors . I have a label that requires me to get a Doctors note for The Company that wishes to employ me driving trucks. That I am stable off medication. The Doctors I was going to will not help me because I am not seeking to get back on meds and stay in the hell of my childhood. The new Psychiatrist has made a desision based not on me now and how I have been the past 6 years but on the hell of my childhood and young adult life. In his professional opinion because of my past he belives I need to be monitored. That of which in my opinion is bull^&%$. Why when you are fine and stable do they wish to drag you back to your hell I will never know. This is there way to keep you coming to them for no real reason. November 19 the day I got the phone call that would forever change my life... today is my cancer anniversary and it's Bittersweet. I wrote this poem in the midst of my journey, from what I can remember I started this poem one day after church when the words came to mind, "He put scriptures on my lips, so I could resist your kiss". This poem was a turning point and so was November 19... so I share this day with you all and I hope I ring your heart and that you will answer your wake up call.... Red - Canto III with captions

I noticed no one had made a caption video for this piece yet. Come to think of it I don't know that many Red listeners would recognize what is being recited, if you can even understand it. I'm not a scholar but I recognized it to be The Divine Comedy, an allegorical epic poem from the 14th century. The Divine Comedy is an epic poem written by Dante Alighieri, describing a mans' search for God. This excerpt is the beginning or the third part (or Canto) of the first "movement," if you will, called Inferno, describing one's literal entrance into Hell and subsequent denial of sin, and of a life there in. What's being described is more or less a conversation between Dante and his guide Virgil, as they enter the gates of Hell, as the discuss the pertinence of actually witnessing Hell in physical form and its deeper meanings among men The last line of this piece is not the concluding line of the original Canto, in fact it is in the middle of a stanza, but it is certainly one of the most famous. "These people have not any hope of death." This quote is commonly mistaken for saying that those who follow Christ have no hope of eternal death. However Christ is not even mentioned in this portion of the poem. What he is actually saying is in reference to the damned souls who "lament so sore", that they have no hope of dying in escape from their pain and agony, but rather, they will live out eternity in suffering. The Divine Comedy is notably one of the most prominent origins of the ...

The Legend of Mamie Thurman: As Others Do in Hell [Sims 3 Machinima]

Is that tune stuck in your head now? Good. If you're completely lost, it's probably because you don't know the story of Mamie Thurman. So here it is: On June 22, 1932, the body of a young woman was found slain on 22 Mine Road in Logan, WV. Not only was her neck broken, but her throat had been cut from ear to ear. She had also been shot twice in the head at close range, leaving her face burned. Next to her body was a purse filled with money, so police ruled out robbery. This woman was identified as Mamie Thurman. The manner and brutality of her murder was a shock to the citizens of the small, quiet towns in southern West Virginia. The arrest and eventual conviction of a handyman raised many questions in Logan, as the investigation involved several prominent citizens. The trial resulted in standing room only with many spectators bringing chairs and basket lunches to the court proceedings. Mamie Thurman's death certificate filed at the courthouse states she was buried at Logan Memorial Park in McConnell. Harris Funeral Home records show that her body was transported to Bradfordsville, Kentucky. However, the cemetery in Kentucky has no record of the interment of Mamie's body. It is also said that during the night, days after her funeral, a prominent businessman from Logan paid $1000 to have her body moved to a Chauncey cemetery. It remains a mystery to this day just where Mamie Thurman was buried and if the man convicted in her death was actually her murderer. According to ...

The Stranger IS Not ..A Poem about death and grave .

Are You Prepared for Death? Death is like a journey to a land from which there is no return. So before you die, be sure to pack three things to take along with you on the journey: Proper identification (ID) [Book of Record of a Person's Life] This covers two very important categories: Faith (belief) Actions (deeds) They must both be correct to insure an easy transition into the Next Life and a proper place in the Paradise in the Hereafter. Enough nourishment to last for Eternity Sufficient garments or coverings Are You Prepared for Death? The grave is the first step to the Hereafter This is a poem about death , grave and the hereafter . It was written by Zen Alabedden ben Ali the grandson of the prophet PBUH . it reminds us with the grave and death . I don't think I'll ever fully comprehend how you've guided me to what is true my purpose of existence has been fulfilled and I can thank no one but You You opened the door for me and allowed me to showcase the love I held as you knew I was better than the wrongs in which I dwelled Thinking about the love You hold for me brings a flood of tears to the eye as I seek nothing but your closeness because I know that sustenance you will supply I cannot explain nor attempt to justify my shortcomings as I am a nothing short of a sinful slave You are the forgiver so pardon me before I am told to enter my grave Allow me to be amongst the best of muslims who go through the day experiencing starvation and sacrifice the pleasures of sleep as they stay up at night in prostration For every calamity you bring I say Alhamdulillah my creator as I know that the reward in gratitude will be much greater Never can I repay the luxuries that you continuously give but to please You is the reason I live The religion of Islam is pure and perfect without it I don't know where I'd be I praise you Allah because You are everything and more to me.
