Peter Sarstedt-------Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)

"Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?" is a 1969 song by Peter Sarstedt. It was a #1 hit in the UK charts for six weeks in 1969 and was awarded the 1969 Ivor Novello Award, together with David Bowie's "Space Oddity". In the United States, the record only reached #61 on the Cash Box Top 100 Singles and #70 on the Billboard Hot 100 that May. The song is about a fictional girl named Marie-Claire who grows up to become a member of the Jet Set, and lives in Paris. The lyrics describe her from the perspective of a childhood friend; it is left unclear whether they have remained close. The rhetorical question of the title suggests that her glamorous lifestyle may not have brought Marie-Claire happiness or contentment. It is speculated by some that the lyrics refer to Sophia Loren, as it is believed to be a close discription of her life.

Big Walter :::: Pack Fair & Square.

Born Walter Travis Price, 2 August 1914, Gonzales, Texas Now aged 93, singer / pianist Big Walter Price must be one of the oldest blues artists alive. Though he never had a national hit, he is often referred to as a blues legend. Walter himself does not see himself exclusively as a blues singer, he considers himself more versatile than that.

Vee's 1961 summer release "Take Good Care of My Baby" went to No.1 on the Billboard US listings and number 3 in the UK Singles Chart. Known primarily as a performer of Brill Building pop material, he went on to record a string of international hits in the 1960s, including "Devil or Angel" (US #6), "Rubber Ball" (1961) (US #6), "More Than I Can Say" (1961) (UK #4), "Run To Him" (1961) (US #2), "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes" (1963) (US #3), and "Come Back When You Grow Up" (US #3). When Vee recorded "Come Back When You Grow Up" in 1967, he was joined by a band called 'The Strangers'. His first single was "Suzie Baby", an original song penned by Vee which nodded towards Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue" for the Minneapolis-based Soma Records in 1959; it drew enough attention and chart action to be purchased by Liberty Records, which signed him to their label later that year. His follow-up single, a cover of Adam Faith's UK Number 1 "What Do You Want?" charted in the lower reaches of Billboard in early 1960; however, it was his fourth release, a revival of The Clovers' doo-wop ballad "Devil or Angel", that brought him into the big time with US buyers.
