By Dani Carlson GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - For the seventh year in a row "Elves and More West Michigan" delivered a little holiday cheer and a lot of bikes to one Grand Rapids neighborhood. Dozens of volunteers, including elves and several Santas, showed up Saturday morning to dole out the bikes. Organizers said they are some of the volunteers who put the bikes together last week. Several semi trucks full of bikes, escorted by Grand Rapids police and Michigan State Police cruisers, lined the road near Gerald R. Ford school Saturday morning. The organization was able to donate hundreds of bikes to kids in the Southeast Area Neighborhood of Kids.

"Michigan dominates much of this list, with several cities experiencing significant declines in population as the state suffered high unemployment rates and above average foreclosures in recent years due mainly to the collapse of the auto industry." The Grand Rapids Press Julia Bower immediately took exception to how Newsweek gathered its statistics, saying the survey stopped its count at the city limits -- which is missing a big part of Grand Rapids' reach. "Never mind (Grand Valley State University's) student body in Allendale. Or the bustling businesses in Kentwood or Cascade Township. Between 2000 and 2009, the city lost just over 2 percent in population and dropped more than 2 percent in its youth headcount." It took four months -- to craft this response <b>...</b>

For the first time since the deadly shooting rampage in Grand Rapids, dash cam video has been released showing police in a wild pursuit of the suspect. Rodrick Shonte Dantzler was responsible for what many are calling the worst mass murder in Grand Rapids history. In July Dantzler tore through the city, killing seven people before taking his own life. His victims included two ex-girlfriends and five members of their family. In the dash cam video you can hear Dantzler firing shots at police as they chase his white SUV. At one point police even ram his vehicle in an effort to stop him. Dantzler ended up crashing his car on I-96 and taking hostages into a nearby home. After several hour of negotiations with authorities Dantzler turned the gun on himself.
