"This False World" is a posthumous collaboration between composer David Douglas Thompson and poet CS Thompson. My father, David Douglas Thompson, was a brilliant composer of dark ambient, neo-classical and occasionally even EBM-inspired electronic music. We often discussed the possibility of a collaboration, and after he passed away in October 2006, I began to put this project together, using selections from his final album "Whom the Gods Would Destroy," as well as pieces from his earlier albums. Combining these with selections from my own poetry and slideshows of paintings by William Blake and Henry Fuseli, I created these videos.

It claims to disclose the "secret teachings of the Savior," reserved for his inner circle of initiates during the eleven years following his Resurrection. Pete travels through Egypt and the former Roman Empire looking at the emerging evidence of a Christian world that's very different to the one we know, and discovers that aside from the gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John, there were over seventy gospels, acts, letters and apocalypses, all circulating in the early Church. Through these lost Gospels, Pete reconstructs the intense intellectual and political struggles for orthodoxy that was fought in the early centuries of Christianity, a battle involving different Christian sects, each convinced that their gospels were true and sacred. In1945. Three hundred miles south of Cairo is a place of deserts and caves called Nag Hammadi. Egyptian farmhands searching for a type of fertile soil find a skeleton, and with it a sealed jar. At first they do not open the jar because they fear it might contain an evil Jinn. But the lure of gold tempts them. When they break open the jar they find not gold, but thirteen leather bound papyrus codices. Terence Kemp McKenna was a writer, philosopher, psychonaut and ethnobotanist. He was noted for his many speculations on the use of psychedelic, plant-based entheogens, and subjects ranging from shamanism, the development of human consciousness, and novelty theory. Rupert Sheldrake is a British former biochemist turned parapsychology researcher, and the author of a number of controversial books on topics such as animal and plant development and behaviour, memory, telepathy and perception. In his first book, A New Science of Life: The Hypothesis of Morphic Resonance, Sheldrake proposed that phenomena particularly biological ones become more probable the more often they occur, and therefore biological growth and behaviour become guided into patterns laid down by previous similar events. He suggested that this underlies many aspects of science, from evolution to the laws of nature. Terence Kemp McKenna was a writer, philosopher, psychonaut and ethnobotanist. He was noted for his many speculations on the use of psychedelic, plant-based entheogens, and subjects ranging from shamanism, the development of human consciousness, and novelty theory. Rupert Sheldrake is a British former biochemist turned parapsychology researcher, and the author of a number of controversial books on topics such as animal and plant development and behaviour, memory, telepathy and perception. In his first book, A New Science of Life: The Hypothesis of Morphic Resonance, Sheldrake proposed that phenomena particularly biological ones become more probable the more often they occur, and therefore biological growth and behaviour become guided into patterns laid down by previous similar events. He suggested that this underlies many aspects of science, from evolution to the laws of nature. In his second book, The Presence of the Past: Morphic Resonance and the Habits of Nature, Sheldrake presented evidence for morphic resonance, one aspect of the "formative causation" hypothesis Sheldrake introduced in A New Science of Life.

He is well known for his association with Timothy Leary at Harvard University in the early 1960s, both having been dismissed from their professorships for experiments on the effects of psychedelic drugs on human subjects. He is also known for his travels to India and his association with the Hindu guru Neem Karoli Baba.
