Dog Catches Fish Crossing a Flooded Road
Well, just as the title says, A Dog Catches A Fish That's Crossing The Road! LoL! Tho of course, it did happen during a flood! The answer to why salmon crossed the road in Washington state Tuesday morning may be simple: because of major flooding on the roadway, caused by heavy rain and seemingly confusing the heck out of the migrating fish (see video). A powerful storm system arrived along parts of the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday, including Western Washington, kicking off what promises to be a wet and windy Thanksgiving holiday week. Rainfall totals should reach three inches in the Seattle area before Thanksgiving Day. Wind gusts from 50-70 mph were recorded in some areas. Flood-hit Thais warned of reptiles in waters
As the floods in Thailand crawl through the suburbs of its capital, swallowing streets, homes and businesses, residents have been warned to watch out for escaped crocodiles and deadly spitting snakes. Many people who have lost their homes do not want to leave and move to evacuation centres because they are afraid to go into the floodwaters. Teams have been formed to hunt the reptiles, so far managing to catch a few crocodiles in some areas. Al Jazeera's Wayne Hay reports from Bangkok.

Floods leave many destitute in India
Tens of thousands of people remain stranded in India as flood waters continue to inundate homes, leaving at least 20 people dead in the eastern state of Orissa. Critics have questioned what they call the government's slow response to the crisis but officials say they are doing the best they can under the circumstances. The remnants of Tropical Storm Lee poured water on top of the already soaked US northeast on Thursday, closing hundreds of roads and forcing evacuation orders for more than 100000 people from the Susquehanna River's worst flooding in nearly 40 years. In Binghamton, New York, a city of about 45000, the Susquehanna coursed into the streets and climbed halfway up lampposts and storage sheds. Mayor Matt Ryan said it was the city's worst flooding since the flood walls were built in the 1930s and `40s. Buses and then boats were used to evacuate residents, and National Guard troops were on hand to help. A large evacuation shelter was opened on the campus of Binghamton University. It is able to house more than 1000 evacuees, and they have been steadily filing in since Wednesday. Up to nine inches of rain fell in Binghamton and areas of Pennsylvania. Rivers and streams passed or approached flood stage from Maryland to Massachusetts, and experts said more flooding was coming. Downstream, up to 75000 residents were ordered to leave in and around Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where the levee system is just high enough to hold back the if it crests at the predicted level. Thailand flood warnings may be scaring away tourists
www.euronews.net Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra spent Sunday visiting a boat operation in Bangkok aimed at helping to prevent the flooding from overtaking the capital. More than 1000 vessels were out on the river with their engines turned on trying to propel the water into the Gulf of Thailand. The premier says she is confident that central Thailand will not be affected. However, officials have not said the threat has passed completely.
