On 8th October 2011 the EDL Angels went to Downing Street to hand in a petition asking that British Prime Minister explain his comments that members of the EDL were 'sick'. The EDL is a non-violent, non-racist organisation that peacefully protests against radical islam in our country. Claims that this madman Anders Breivik had any connection with the EDL is not only unsubstantiated but is a direct attack on the EDL to vilify them. Instead of attacking the EDL, the government need to sit down and discuss the problems that the EDL and infact many fellow citizens of this country are concerned about.

These EDL supporters were all arrested after they had been to show their respects at the Remembrance Service at the Cenotaph. A good while later, whilst they were having a quiet drink in a Public House, they were suddenly surrounded and arrested by the Police. The BBC Report says : "There was no suggestion of any trouble" and that "the arrests were made because of something that might happen". From the BBC site : More than 170 supporters of the English Defence League (EDL) have been arrested outside a pub near the Cenotaph in central London, Scotland Yard has said. They were at the Red Lion in Parliament Street, close to Downing Street and government buildings on Whitehall. The EDL had said it would be in Westminster on Armistice Day to pay its respects to military personnel who had been killed or injured while on duty. Police said the arrests were made to "prevent a breach of the peace".
