This is the new comparison of the EMG 81 (bridge) and the Seymour Duncan Sh-13 "Dimebucker" (Dimebag Darrell signature pickup) in the bridge too. EMG 81 is still on the BC Rich Warlock Platinum and the Dimebucker is on my Washburn Dime 2 Stealth Dimebag signature guitar. Recorded with a mic, not the USB record out from the Peavey VYPYR 75 watts. Feel free for questions or comment. Hope you like it. READ THIS PLEASE!!!! This is just a short soundtest (distortion only) of the Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker. I thought it sounded like shit when I got it and so I quickly replaced it. But after a year I realized that I had soldered the wrong cables. Now when I got it right I have to admit that this is one awesome pickup! The EMG 81 is in my Agile AL2500 EMG. The Seymour Duncan is in my Schecter Diamond Series Gryphon. Personally, I think they sound too similar with this amount of distortion to make that big of an impact on your tone. The guitars and bass guitar are ran through my Line 6 Toneport GX and being distorted by the Gearbox software. The drums are done with Beatcraft. I recorded and mixed this with Mixcraft. In each recording there are two separate guitars: one on the left and one on the right. Both of these guitars are using the pickup being displayed at the time. Both the drums and the bass do not change in either recording. I wanted to express to others who are interested in either pickup the sound that they would get in the mix of things(granted I through the mix together in five minutes). Keep in mind since the EMG 81 pickup is an active pickup it is louder than the Seymour Duncan Dimebucker, which is passive. Some of that extra low end you hear with the Dimebucker may be the bass guitar, since it is louder in the mix while the Seymour Duncan Dimebucker is being used.. YouTube cut off the end of the video. This makes me sad. Most importantly, the song is Omerta by Lamb of God. It is off their album Ashes of the Wake.
