PRESENTED BY BARBARA RAPPAPORT DEL CASTILLO began as a CD project for family back in the winter of 2000 and has become a symbol of the cross-cultural power of music with their eclectic blend of Flamenco, Rock, Latin, Blues, and World music. Between the release of their first CD, Brothers of the Castle back in 2001, to their 2006 release, Brotherhood, Del Castillo has received an astonishing 18 awards including SXSW/Austin Music "Album of the Year" Awards for Vida (2002) and Brotherhood (2006), "Band of the Year (2003)", ASCAP'S "Best Independent Group of the Year (2005)", and Austin Music Pundits "Best Live Act (2004)". Rolling Stone calls Del Castillo "tumbling brilliance on nylon-string classical guitars" with "eruptions of technique and taste (that) conjure images of Eddie Van Halen fronting early Santana (with an assist from the Gipsy Kings)." Film Director Robert Rodriguez attended a Del Castillo concert in 2002 and a great friendship developed between the two. Rodriguez then enlisted the group to contribute music to the soundtracks of his movies, such as "Spy Kids 3D", "Once Upon a Time in Mexico","Sin City", and "GRINDHOUSE", and perform with him at the premieres. Rodriguez was so impressed with Del Castillo that he wanted to record with them, so together, they formed CHINGON and recorded an amazing electric rendition of the Mexican classic song, "Malaguena Salerosa". Quentin Tarantino loved it so much that he re-did the ending sequence of "Kill Bill Vol. II" to <b>...</b>

UPDATE: Please sign my petition demanding the TSA's screening procedures be in line with our Constitutional rights. I'll be teaming up with other organizations to get word out to Congress in an effort to change current policy: www.susiecastillo.net ORIGINAL POST: Last week I had a degrading TSA "enhanced pat down" that drove me to tears so I thought I'd speak up and encourage others to do the same. We can't sit back and watch the government take our rights away. These pat downs are a complete violation of our Constitutional rights. I was touched inappropriately and they're even making the elderly and children as young as 6 years old go through this. It has to stop! As a host and actress, my work requires me to travel often and I don't want to get assaulted (or irradiated by those body scanners) every time I have to fly. www.artehistoria.com Junto a la catedral, el edificio de mayor relevancia en la época medieval es el castillo. La ciudad del Medievo se levantaba en sus cercanÃas para servir de refugio a los habitantes en caso de ataque exterior. El castillo era casi inexpugnable para el enemigo y solÃa situarse en un terreno elevado, rodeado de foso, estando construido principalmente en piedra. Fuertes murallas y torres defensivas le otorgaban un aspecto inaccesible. A través de un puente levadizo se accede a la barbacana que da paso a la fortaleza. Cruzada la puerta principal nos encontramos en el patio de armas. Desde aquà podemos contemplar la residencia señorial, la torre del homenaje, las cocinas y el salón principal, al que se accede por una triple arquerÃa. En el salón principal celebraba el señor sus banquetes y reuniones. La sala se organizaba a través de amplias mesas rectangulares a cuyo alrededor se colocaban bancos para asentar a los comensales. Sobre una tarima se ubicaba la mesa principal donde el señor y su familia presidÃan el banquete sentados en sillas. Las paredes estaban escasamente decoradas, distinguiéndose en ellas trofeos de caza, armaduras o estandartes. El suelo era de madera y el techo estaba constituido por vigas transversales también de madera.
