What I did on a weekend! I don't listen to Chinese music, if I do, I can just about understand it, and I don't really speak Cantonese as much as I should. I remembered a time when my friends (who are BBC also) and we were talking about Canto Pop and playing the piano, then I started singing 'I love you...' Canto Pop ballad. That was a couple of years ago, and this a continuation of that idea. Very rough around the edges, but it is just for fun and for my friends. I don't even know if it makes sense! Ahhaha!

Kelvin Kwan (關楚耀) apologises over drugs bust (Cantonese)
www.scmp.com Cantopop star Kelvin Kwan Chor-yiu has held his first press conference since returning to Hong Kong after being detained by Japanese police for cannabis possession. The 25-year-old and fellow Cantopop star Jill Vidal (26) were arrested in Tokyo on February 24 at a busy shopping district. No charges were laid on Kwan but the status of fellow Cantopop star Jill Vidal remains unknown. While Kwan did not openly admit he consumed the drug, he repeatedly apologised to the Hong Kong public and his fans over the incident. The pair were especially lambasted considering they were once involved in anti-drug campaign in 2007. He also says he will be stepping away form the entertainment industry for an unspecified time. Danny Chan, Man in the net - chow yun fatt, carol cheng... Those were the days.... Danny Chan Bak-keung (7 September 1958- 25 October 1993) was a 1980s cantopop singer, composer and actor in Hong Kong with origins in Taishan, Guangdong. Chan was of the first generation of pop idols in Hong Kong. He was already an electronic organ player, a songwriter, an actor and a promising singer at the beginning of his career. He made a name for himself with his debut release, "Tears For You", which established him as a teen idol. Ripple, Just Loving You and What One Wants in Life are just some of the golden hits written and sung by Chan. He is mostly remembered for his Cantonese romance ballads and high quality compositions. Chan died in 1993 after being in a coma for 17 months

Stephanie Cheng has recently outlined her plans for the near future, including two albums in 2011 and her first Hong Kong Coliseum concerts in 2012. The diminutive Canto-pop singer has been through ups and downs in the business for seven whole years, and this year looks to be a major turning point in her career as her record company has bet huge dollars on her becoming a "diva of tomorrow". Quite unfortunate about the sound. I made a 300mb version where the sound is fantastic but the upload is too slow. Anyway this is George Lam's famous remix/medley known as 10 Minutes 12 Inches, a mix of very famous cantopop songs and this record is really old. The remix is simply fantastic and only George Lam has that pair of lungs to carry this out. I wonder can you still buy this or is this anywhere in Youtube? Can you identify all the songs? Sorry just the title in the video made by myself. I don't have the video if there is one. I am not sure if the entire remix is in here since I took it from a non stop remix album but the very last 5 seconds or so is the beginning of another remix. I got this from a 42 non stop remixes album and frankly I didn't know how to cut out the last part. I hope you like it though.
