This is the story of Bethany Keenan and Sparks, the childrens medical research charity. Bethany Keenan was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and potentially fatal childrens cancer. Bethany was diagnosed when she was 3 years of age, her prognosis was not looking good, in fact the only areas that were free from cancer were her hands and feet. and there is only a 20 to 30% survival rate from this cancer, her family feared the worse, but stayed positive and thankfully, after 6 long years and after a long hard fight Bethany has now beaten this disease with the help of her loving family, the NHS and charities such as Sparks. On 17th October 2009 I had the pleasure in helping to organise a massive party for Bethany, titled "Bethany's Bash", to help celebrate the beginning of her life again after her all clear results, nearly 1000 people attended, we had a number of great acts lined up and it was a fantastic night, the money raised will go to childrens charities who will help in combating this disease and hopefully one day there will be a 100% survival rate from neuroblastoma. Bethany's story is very touching and we hope she will be a beacon to parents who's child face an uncertain future and help them to think positive. Nothing is impossible, stay positive there is hope and help out there and one day you too will have Your party of a lifetime. I am pleased to report that Kay, Bethany's mum, has agreed to now be an ambassador for the West Midlands area on behalf of Sparks. I ...
