Behold a Pale Horse is a 1991 book by William Milton Cooper. Written after Cooper had been a member of the US Naval Intelligence Briefing Team of the Commander in Chief of the United States Pacific Fleet, the book details many of Cooper's claims about the alleged influence of UFOs on US government agencies, the New World Order, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the alleged Apollo hoaxes and other topics. Another claim made in the book pertains to his own death. William Cooper, seemingly paranoid, claimed that he would be shot to death on his own property. I think he's appealing to mystery which allows his audience to take it however they wish. This video wasn't an attempt to 'christianize' the song. It was simply an attempt to represent the song which contains Christian elements (though these are the elements most are familiar with). This song is based on a few things. The title was certainly meant to parallel the book with the same name. However, clearly the book of Revelation was the main influence as so many of the lyrics are drawn from it. "Revelation" in Greek (which I took 2 years of New Testament Greek) is apocalupsis (to unveil or reveal). Some of the lyrics are based out of the 1st chapter (I see the 7 stars the 7 stands), but the title is from Revelation 6:8. The pale horse (which can be translated "green" horse) implies a sickly horse. The horse is one of the popularly known "4 horseman of the apocalypse." It is the last of the 4 and is said to bring death and hell with it. These 4 horses are literary symbols of judgement on the earth.
