The John Barry Memorial Concert took place on 20th June 2011 at The Royal Albert Hall, London. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Dodd perform many of John Barry's best known film themes with guest artists Dame Shirley Bassey, David Arnold, Rumer, Derek Watkins, Julian Jackson and Nigel Hitchcock. The Witch And The Saint si another programmatic tone poem. It is baced upon the novel by Ulrike Schweikert and is constructed in five distinct sections. The opening depicts the birth of two twin sisters born in 1588 in Elwangen, Gremany. In those times, the birth of the twins was considered a bad omen and as the sisters grew up, it became clear that they had the gift of second sight and could predict future events. The thematic material repersenting both sisters is first introduced in this section along with a medieval, Gregorian chant-type motif. The second section of the piece is the development of Sibylla's theme. This sister led a horrible life and her gift was looked down upon. Many townspeople feared Sibylla and considered her to be a witch. After a breif transition, the theme representing the other sister, Helena, is introduced in it's entirety. The third section of the piece is the development of Helena's theme. The sister was sent away to a convent when she was a child. While at the convent, Helena is revered as a saint because of her visions. The fourth section of the work is a turbulent section repersenting the struggles both of these sisters had in their lives. Eventually, Sibylla is imprisoned and Helena returnes to the town to save her sister. The fifth section and the finale of the work depicts the return of and the rescue of her sister, Sibylla. As they are trying to escape, the sisters are captured once again and this time, for fear of being burnt at the <b>...</b>

Yes, I listened to the sound recordings, I have listened to the Morse, and (although many of you don't notice it), I have heard data bursts all over the place. I recently found this old 2003 archived webpage talking about "UZB-76" (which is most likely a typo), stating many interesting stuff. Spoilers avast, don't read if you don't want your mysteries to be crushed! Firstly, the buzzer has been discovered by Russian radioamateurs in 1976(!). Second of all (and here comes a huge bummer), it's basically nothing more than a handler of commands directed from the Central node of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces to the launchers. Yes, you read it right, this is the station that's giving orders to missile launchers, as well as they give feedback to the Missile Forces. The messages correspond to most likely a previously arranged code table, which most likely describe what types of missiles will be tested. It's most likely just for testing of the missiles. Heimschallplattenaufnahme auf Decelith von 1942. Interessanterweise ist genau dieser zweite Titel ("Heut´ tanzt Titina") hier in youtube bei " Rundfunksender " von der "Quelle", also einer Rundfunkplatte, ebenfalls abrufbar, und so vollständig zu geniessen. Zum Vergleich hier mit der damaligen Technik daheim aufgenommen. So schlecht war die Qualität nun auch nicht, oder? Leider war der Bass beim ersten Lied stellenweise etwas zu heftig, das hat der Schneidstichel offensichtlich nicht so recht auf Platte bannen können. Zumindest ist es haltbarer als heutige CD- oder DVD-Rohlinge. Mit "Küß mich, bitte bitte küß mich" fängt das Medley im ersten Titel an, "Träumen von der Südsee" folgt, der nächste heisst "Tango Bolero" (von Juan Llossas geschrieben). Danach geht es weiter zum oben genannten Titel, welcher laut "Rundfunksenders" Angaben hiervon eingespielt wurde: Kleines Orchester des Reichssenders Stuttgart Leitung: Willi Bara 02.03.1938 ----------------------------- Fehlerteufel im Video: bei Decelith fehlt das "h", meine Tastatur hat leider Aussetzer. Beizeiten folgen weitere Bruchstücke aus dem RRG- Programm, sogar mit kurzen Sprachbeigaben.
