MORELAND & ARBUCKLE SET TO RELEASE TELARC DEBUT ON FEBRUARY 23, 2010 Flood rocks with rootsy, hard-driving sound Music has the power to transport us: to carry us to mysterious places and explore new worlds. On Flood, Moreland & Arbuckles debut release on Telarc International, a division of Concord Music Group, the rootsy, hard-driving group from Kansas takes music itself to places its never been. Featuring mostly original tunes, Flood presents a dynamic mix of thirteen acoustic and electric songs, each performed with all the subtlety of a passing freight train. Ever since guitarist Aaron Moreland first met singer/harpist Dustin Arbuckle at an open mic jam in Wichita in 2001, Moreland & Arbuckle have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Along Brad Horner on drums, the group features Moreland playing everything from National steel to a cigar box guitar, and Arbuckle singing and playing harmonica.

Best Arbuckle Keaton Collection: Butcher Boy (silent)

A rising star who rose from bit player to writer, director, and star of comedies for Mack Sennett's Keystone Film Company, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle recruited up-and-coming vaudeville comic Buster Keaton for a series of films from 1917 through 1919. Presented chronologically, these shorts demonstrate Keaton's evolution from bit player to full partner as both men honed their comedic skills. Following the 1921 scandal that was inflamed by a publicity-seeking prosecutor and the tabloid press, Arbuckle's films were withdrawn from circulation in America. The films in this collection were gathered from international archives and private collections, with new English intertitles and digitally mastered from 35mm, some directly from the nitrate originals.

Moreland & Arbuckle | Just A Dream

Just A Dream on Amazon: bzz.is MORELAND & ARBUCKLE UP THE ANTE ON NEW TELARC RECORDING Legendary guitarist Steve Cropper makes guest appearance on Just A Dream, scheduled for release on August 23, 2011. Since their beginnings in the Kansas heartland a decade ago, guitarist Aaron Moreland and vocalist/harpist Dustin Arbuckle have captured the visceral spirit of the early 20th century Delta blues and the raw energy of post-World War II urban blues and distilled it all into a hard-driving and powerful garage-rock configuration of guitar, vocals, harp and drums. Moreland & Arbuckle build on that solid foundation with the August 23, 2011, release of Just A Dream, their second album on Telarc International, a division of Concord Music Group. The 12-song set showcases Moreland's dynamic and compelling guitar work -- two tracks were recorded on his cigar-box guitar consisting of three guitar strings and one bass string -- Arbuckle's emotionally charged vocals and edgy harp, and drummer Brad Horner's rock-solid backbeat. Just A Dream adds a few layers of sophistication to the rootsy sensibility previously captured in the band's acclaimed 2010 Telarc debut, Flood. "The clear objective was to retain the gritty, raw feel that we created on our prior release, but push everything up about four notches as far as sound quality, the selection of songs, the production and every other aspect of the record," says Moreland. "Everything we've done in the past was set up in one big room and ...

The Bell Boy: Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, Buster Keaton (1918 Movie)

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org The Bell Boy is a short film produced and released in 1918 by the Comique film company. The film stars Fatty Arbuckle and Buster Keaton as bellboys in Elk's Head Hotel. They cause trouble with each other and guests. The elevator is powered by a stubborn horse, a sham robbery turns into a real one, and there is a chase on a runaway trolley. Much of the material in this film was later re-used by Keaton in his 1937 film "Love Nest On Wheels". One sequence involving a mop was reused by Keaton in his last film appearance, in The Scribe. Starting at the Selig Polyscope Company he eventually moved to Keystone Studios where he worked with Mabel Normand and Harold Lloyd. He mentored Charlie Chaplin and discovered Buster Keaton and Bob Hope. He was one of the most popular silent stars of the 1910s, and soon became one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, signing a contract to make $1 million a year in 1918. In 1921, Arbuckle threw a party at San Francisco's St Francis hotel during the Labor Day weekend. Bit player Virginia Rappe became ill at the party and died days later. Coney Island (1917) Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle (part 1 of 2)

Coney Island (also known as Fatty at Coney Island) is a 1917 short silent film comedy written and directed by Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, and starring Arbuckle and Buster Keaton. The twenty-four minute film follows Arbuckle's antics at Coney Island, the New York City amusement park and beach resort, where he sneaks away from his wife to enjoy the attractions, gets a rival for another woman arrested, and disguises himself as a woman. The Keystone Kops are also featured. Coney Island was filmed before Keaton had fully established his screen persona. Because of this, he employs a wide range of facial expressions, including mugging and laughing, differing drastically from his subsequent unsmiling, but still eloquent, expression. Arbuckle breaks the fourth wall in one scene where, about to change his clothes, he directly looks at the camera and gestures for it to raise its view above his waist; the camera obligingly does so.
