The Apocryphal Book of Tobit

I hope you enjoy my rendering of The Apocryphal Book of Tobit. The Book of Tobit was written about 200 BC It tells the story of a religious Israelite named Tobit who was carried as a captive to Nineveh by the Assyrians. I really enjoyed this book; if you like the book of Enoch I think you will like this book of Tobit. Here is what Wiki says about it. The main narrative is dedicated to Tobit's son, Tobiah or Tobiyah (Greek: Τωβίας/Tobias), who is sent by his father to collect a sum of money that the latter had deposited some time previously in the far off land of Media. Raphael represents himself as Tobit's kinsman Azariah, and offers to aid and protect Tobias on his journey. Under the guidance of Raphael, Tobias makes the journey to Media, accompanied by his dog. This book contains the Ark Angel Raphael, The name Raphael in Hebrew means. "It is God who heals", "God Heals", "God, Please Heal", Arabic: إسرافيل‎, Isrāfāʾīl) The Apocrypha has been a part of the bible for many years and I think its loaded with great stories and lessons we can all benefit from. God has spoken through people, places and things for ages. When you hear truth you will know its true. He who has an ear; let him hear.. God bless and if you enjoy the video please share it with your family and friends. All the best, -Pete

Second Peter & Jude 6/6 Apocryphal Parallels Part 2

One of six treatises I wrote the winter of 1997-1998. This one combines the letters of Second Peter and Jude. Biblical scholars have long held that Second Peter waters down Judes usage of apocryphal books by not quoting them as explicitly. I, however, attempt to demonstrate that far from trying to restrain Judes usage of these documents, Peter actually ensures that we will one day realize just what we have forgotten about our original Christian heritage--the mystery of these lost books, which was passed down from Jesus himself, to the early church through his apostles.

Apocrypha & Pseudepigrapha 9.0: Tobit (Introduction)

The Book of Tobit is a book of scripture that is part of the Catholic and Orthodox biblical canon, pronounced canonical by the Council of Carthage of 397 and confirmed for Roman Catholics by the Council of Trent (1546). It is listed in Article VI of the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England. Tobit is regarded by Protestants as apocryphal. It has never been included within the Tanakh as canonical by Judaism. However, it is found in the Septuagint, and Aramaic and Hebrew fragments of the book were discovered in Cave IV at Qumran in 1952. These fragments are generally in agreement with the Greek text. This book tells the story of a righteous Israelite of the Tribe of Naphtali named Tobit living in Nineveh after the deportation of the northern tribes of Israel to Assyria in 721 BCE under Sargon II. Apocrypha & Pseudepigrapha 4.0: Susanna (Introduction)

Susanna is one of the additions to Daniel, considered apocryphal by Protestants, but included in the Book of Daniel (as chapter 13) by the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. It is listed in Article VI of the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England. Jews do not include it in the Tanach. The main story is as follows: Susanna, ... the beautiful and pious wife of the rich Joacim (Joakim) of Babylon, walking in her garden, is seen by two elders, recently appointed judges, who, inflamed with lust, approach her with an infamous proposal, and, when repulsed, accuse her publicly of adultery. Brought before the tribunal, she is found guilty, and is led forth to execution; but at this moment Daniel, then a young lad, interposes and by a clever device shows the falsity of the accusers. These are put to death; Susanna is justified; and Daniel's reputation among the people is thenceforth very high. Defending the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha: Argument Five Antilegomena Part 1 Introduction

Hello, this is Anayah. I am making this video as an introduction to my defense of the books of the Antilegomena. The term antilegomena means books of the New Testament that were disputed by Christians as to whether or not they were Scripture. The antilegomena is described by Eusebius as containing the following books: the epistle of Hebrews, the Epistle of James, the Epistle of Jude, Second Epistle of Peter, second epistle of John, third epistle of john, the Acts of Paul, the Shepherd of Hermas, the Revelation of Peter, the Epistle of Barnabas, Didache, the Revlation of John, and the Gospel of the Hebrews. Something I wish to emphasize is that the Epistle of the Hebrews, the Epistle of James, the Epistle of Jude, the Second Epistle of Peter, the Second Epistle of John, the third epistle of john, and the revelation of john are all considered Scripture by Protestants and Roman Catholics, while the rest of the books that I mentioned as being part of the antilegomena are rejected by most believers. A main point in regards to these texts of the antilegomena is that the best explanation behind these writings is that they are authentic. No other explanation explains them and fits the evidence better.

The Wisdom of Joshua son of Sirach, also known by the names Sirach, Wisdom of Jesus son of Sirach, Wisdom of Ben Sira, and Ecclesiasticus, is an apocryphal work from the second-century BCE that was originally written in Hebrew. The next video to a series about the Jewish Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha books. This video offers a brief explanation of the Apocryphal & Pseudepigraphal Books In Christian Scripture. During the birth of Christianity, some of the Jewish apocrypha that dealt with the coming of the Messianic kingdom became popular in the rising Jewish-Christian communities. Occasionally these writings were changed or added to, but on the whole it was found sufficient to reinterpret them as conforming to a Christian viewpoint. Christianity eventually gave birth to new apocalyptic works, some of which were derived from traditional Jewish sources. Some of the Jewish apocrypha were part of the ordinary religious literature of the early Christians. Song of the Pearl, Christian-Gnostic Apocrypha

Also known as the Hymn of the Pearl, Hymn of the Soul, Hymn of the Robe of Glory or Hymn of Judas Thomas the Apostle, this tale is found in the apocryphal Acts of Thomas and usually associated with the Gnostic and Manichean traditions. Variations of the story can be found in the Sufi tradition as The King's Son (in Idries Shah's Tales of the Dervishes) and The Precious Jewel (in Shah's Thinkers of the East). In the latter version it is said that "All wisdom, according to Daudzadah, is contained in the various levels of interpretation of this ancient traditional tale." Read by Willis Barnstone, from The Gnostic Bible.

Apocrypha & Pseudepigrapha 8.0: Psalm 151 (Introduction & Text)

Psalm 151 is the name given to a short psalm that is found in most copies of the Septuagint but not in the Masoretic text of the Hebrew Bible. It is included also in some manuscripts of the Syriac Bible. The title of the psalm claims that it was written by King David after his battle with Goliath. As it stands in the Greek text this apocryphal psalm celebrates how David was the least of his brothers, and yet God chose him to be anointed king (vv. 1-5). It goes on to commemorate how David cut off Goliath's head with the Philistine's own sword, and thereby removed Israel's disgrace (vv. 6-7). Demigod - Apocryphal / As I Behold I Despise

Finnish death metal. From the album, "Slumber of Sullen Eyes". Released in 1992 by Drowned Productions. Demigod's classic debut album. A slightly different approach than bands of the Swedish scene, Demigod's riffing is incredibly fast and intricate drawing influence from Floridian death metal bands. They also make use of traditional harmonies and deep growled vocals. The drumming is also excellent. In the past couple of years this album has seen a few reissues, but the awesome cover art is a little different. Track 1 / 2 - Apocryphal / As I Behold I Despise Forsaken and lost Alone below the darkest realm Through the eyes of suffering I have seen the gods from beyond Fathers of time behold and forsake Bring an end to our timeless existence The almighty has fallen No god to rule the vacant throne As darkness takes over The dark overlord shall dominate The fools who seek eternal peace Shall wither slowly to suffer Again to reach the shores of death We must be one with darkened earth As we are shadows in this dismal mist We shall hear the moan of our gods Cloak of darkness, the lord of all Upon this valley of utter nothingness May the periphery Of ancient wisdom Remain merciful For the ones who deny the darkness

Defending the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha: Argument Five Antilegomena Part 2 Epistle of Hebrews

Hello, this is Anayah. I am making this video to demonstrate why I believe the Epistle of the Hebrews should be considered Scripture. Some doubted this book because evidence suggests it was not written by Paul. Well, I dont know about you, but I know of no justification behind the idea that every book in the New Testament has to have been written by Paul. In fact, many books in the New Testament are not written by Paul. This is acknowledged by people who doubt the Epistle of the Hebrews. So, even though Epistle of the Hebrews is not written by Paul, it doesnt matter. Some say it was written by Barnabas. This is testified by the Church Father Tertullian. Barnabas was considered an apostle, and the idea of Scripture in New Testament times is that apostolic works were to be considered Scripture. In other words, if an apostle wrote a religious book that met the criteria for Scripture, it was to be considered Scripture. The Church Father, Clement of Rome references the Epistle of Hebrews in his Epistles. Considering when Clement of Rome lived, he would have witnessed where the Epistle of the Hebrews came from, and the fact that he uses it indicates its authority among the early believers. He would not use the Epistle of the Hebrews in the way he did if he did not expect his readers to accept the Epistle of the Hebrews as authoritative. The Shepherd of Hermas also considers the Epistle of Hebrews as Scripture. The following church fathers, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, and ...

Parallels Between The Apocrypha And The NT Pt 1

Some Parallels between the New Testament and the Apocrypha. Some of the parallels are based only on similar phraseology, but others follow them quite closely, particularly in Matthew and the Pauline Epistles. It is clear, at least, that they were alluded to quite frequently, and perhaps more importantly, they clearly underlie some rather fundamental Christian teachings. Some people dismiss these quotes on the grounds that they are inexact and indirect, but the fact remains that they were known, alluded to, and and accepted by nearly ALL of the New Testament writers.

Defending the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha: Argument Five Antilegomena Part 3 Epistle of Barnabas

Hello, this is Anayah, and I am making this video in order to demonstrate why I believe the Epistle of Barnabas should be considered Scripture. The Epistle of Barnabas is doubted by many for several reasons. First of all, it quotes apocryphal books. This argument means nothing when we realize that the apocryphal books are Scriptural. Further, the New Testament quotes apocryphal books, especially the Epistle of Jude. Thus, to reject the Epistle of Barnabas on the grounds that it quotes apocryphal and pseudepigraphal books would mean you would have to reject the Episle of Jude as well, which quotes clearly quotes from the pseudepigraphal book of Enoch. Many argue that the Epistle of Barnabas was not written by the Apostle Barnabas because of its late date, however, the way they date this epistle is very weak. They date it almost exclusively on the fact that it quotes the apocryphal 2 Esdras as Scripture. And skeptics believe without good evidence at all, that 2 Esdras was written near the end of the 1st century CE. So, that would mean that if thats true, then the Epistle of Barnabas which quotes 2 Esdras, could not have been written earlier than the second century. But there is a huge and significant problem with this idea. First of all, the belief that 2 Esdras is dated so late is based on the idea that it could not have possibly been authentic prophecy. Thus, if 2 Esdras prophesies about an event, skeptics will say it must have been written after the event happened ...

Defending the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha: Argument Five Antilegomena Part 12 Shepherd of Hermas

Hello, this is Anayah. I am making this video in order to demonstrate why I believe the Shepherd of Hermas should be considered Scripture. It is included as Scripture in the Codex Sinaiticus version of the Bible. The Church Fathers Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, and Origen of Alexandria all consider the Shepherd of Hermas as Scripture. The Shepherd of Hermas was not regarded apostolic according to the people behind the Muratorian Canon. However, Origen considered the author to be the Hermas mentioned in Pauls Epistle to the Romans. The Apostle John lived nearly 100 years old. It is certainly possible that Hermas lived just as long. In this way, according to the Muratorian Canon, the Shepherd of Hermas could retain its recent production as cited and testified by the Muratorian canon, and the book can also be apostolic because Hermas probably wrote the Book near the end of his life, thus reconciling the two apparent discrepancies of the descriptions among the church. In the Shepherd of Hermas, it refers to Clement of Rome. Thus, it must be written during or after the ministry of clement. The last objection is that the Shepherd of Hermas advocates the heresy known as adoptionism, however, the language is vague enough to be understood and interpreted in a more orthodox and true way. The fact that it does not claim to be written by any of the more famous apostles indicates that the author considered himself to have apostolic authority of his own right, and the ...

Defending the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha: Argument Five Antilegomena Part 13 Gospel of Hebrews

Hello, this is Anayah. I am making in this video in order to demonstrate why I believe that the Gospel of the Hebrews should be considered Scripture. The Gospel of the Hebrews is the Book that has the most evidence among the antilegomena that it is an authentic Book of Scripture and apostolic in nature. It is acknowledged among the majority of scholars that is the most likely explanation for the synoptic problem. Jerome, Epiphanius of Salamis, Eusebius, Origen of Alexandria, Clement of Alexandria, Irenaeus, Hegesippus, and Papias. Papias quoted the Gospel of the Hebrews in the early 2nd century. The Gospel of Hebrews was universally acknowledged as a book of Scripture written by the apostle Matthew for the first few centuries. It is a lost book of Scripture, however, it was a significant enough book in the early church that almost all of the book is preserved in quotations and references from Church Fathers and other secondary religious sources. The Gospel of the Hebrews clearly offers the best explanation for all the other gospels overwhelming number of similarities and the consensus of the Church Fathers that the original gospel was the Gospel of the Hebrews, written by the apostle Matthew, thus making it a book of Scripture.

Old protestant bible includes the Apocrypha

I discuss the importance of having all of God's word and not just that of the 66 books of the modern protestant bible. I show and talk briefly about a 130 yr old bible that I own that includes the apocrypha. I also discuss Revelation 12 and how it teaches OSAS is a lie. Of note is the fact that Martin Luther was the first person to publish a bible that seperated the apocrypha from the rest of the books of the bible. So he carried on in the spirit of satanic deception and took steps to reduce God's word. Satan had to do it this way because many more people would have rejected Luther if he actually removed the books outright. But satan is patient and has worked tirelessly over the centuries to take small steps to remove as much of God's word as possible.
