情人[CHING YAN] - Inspired By Beyond - Chinese New Year / Valentines Day Special
Excuse the voice, i'm a guitarist not a singer and my Cantonese is dire! This is for someone special who knows who they are. 喜歡妳[Hei Foon Nei] is already done too! Special surprise for whoever can guess where the musical quote in the middle of the end solo is from! Thanks to "lamhotak" / "lhtlamhotak", "mongkk" and "gundamjjj" for background video footage. This is avideo of one of my demos. I thought i'd edit together clips from here and there into videos to go along with some of my demos, rather than just the sound. Since people often have a limited attention span, thus a video may lure them into listening for longer. The track is 情人[CHING YAN] rearranged with some Hendrix-like essence. 情人Written by KK Wong Arranged by E. Shi guitar - Esan Shi drums - Craig Bosch bass - Esan Shi vocal - Esan Shi Recorded / edited / mixed / produced by E. Shi It's basically my demo version of 情人[CHING YAN]. The group members: :::::: Wong Ka-Kui :::::: (June 10, 1962 - June 30, 1993) was a Hong Kong born (with family roots in Taishan, Guangdong) composer, songwriter, musician and singer. He was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and the founder of the Hong Kong rock band Beyond. He composed more than 90 percent of the songs for Beyond and wrote a few award-winning lyrics. Ka-Kui is remembered for his musical talents as well as his unique and powerful voice that is able to convey a number of emotions. His songs are often addressing humanity and social issues such as injustice, war and peace, racism, poverty, family and pursuit of dream. Wong Ka-Kui had a great influence on at least a generation of Chinese because of his outlook on life and the spirit of never giving up. He devoted his entire life to achieve change in the Hong Kong music industry and also tried to make a difference in the world. While filming a gameshow for Fuji Television in Japan on June 24, 1993, Wong Ka-Kui fell off a 3 meter platform head first, and was hospitalized immediately. He died after spending several days in coma due to internal bleeding of head injuries. :::::: Wong Ka-Keung :::::: (born November 13, 1964 in Hong Kong) is a singer, songwriter, composer and the bassist. Ka-Keung is the younger brother of Beyond's late lead singer, Wong Ka-Kui. After forming Beyond, Ka-Kui asked Ka-Keung to practice the keyboard so he could join the band. Yip Kin Wing Chun - Sai Fa Kuen form
Wing Chun the way it was taught in the late 19th Century. Yip Kin Wing Chun is now headed by Yip Kin's grandson and current Grandmaster, Sifu Yip Fook Choy, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sai Fa Kuen (Small Flower Boxing) is the first empty hand form in Yip Kin Wing Chun. Video is from a stage demo at the Chinwoo stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

1993 HKG Award Presentation for Beyond's Wong Kakui. 1993 was the year Kakui left us. Beyond (Paul Wong, Wong Ka Keung, Yip Sai Wing) performed the song "Hai Kuo Tian Kong" (海阔天空). A heart-wrenching moment when the audience stood up and all the artistes joined Beyond in their singing. Sorry for the poor quality of this video!
