Below i will tell you the key parts of the longboard and will have a video showing you what the key parts look like and where they are. Board: Also called a Deck, This is the part you stand on, balance on and use to turn on. Boards can be composed of any of the following, but can be mixed: Bamboo, Wood and Fiberglass. My longboard has layers composed of all of the above. It has wood on the outside, fiberglass under that, and bamboo in the middle. Wheels: Well, common sense really, this helps the board roll. It counts for 60% of the boards spin. Bearings: Are little metal balls (bearings) that are grouped in a metal cup. Great bearings can change a board DRASTICALLY. NEVER ride a longboard in the rain, this can ruin your bearings by causing rust. Rust can lock up your bearings, because first, water dries out all the lubricant in the bearings, which keeps the bearings spin super smoothly. Secondly, then when riding your board, the bearings will rub against the outer cup they are resting in, and when riding for prolonged hours, they will "lock-up" or melt a tiny bit and form with the cup, locking up the bearings, which stops the wheels, which STOPS YOU. The side effects of bad bearings or un-lubricated bearings can cause massive face plants or even rboken bones! Bearings count for 20% of the boards spin. Bushings: Helps turn the board. They are rubber cups, either formed concave on one end, convex on one end, or both. This can DEFINITELY help your board turn easier. Trucks <b>...</b>
