I was looking for a good version of it to use for the translation and I wasn't having much luck and originally I had dismissed this version, but then it hit me...these kids sing this song so well and this song combines two great things. First you have people in another language praising God and then you have kids praising God too...all in one! I thought it was pretty cool. Here is the new song by Christina Stürmer called "Mehr als Perfekt." As with all of my translations I refuse to do it literally. I look at what is said in German and say, "How would we say that in English?" Then I write the subtitles like we would say it in English. If that means changing the word order or using different words so be it. I say that because so many idiots think translating word for word is the way to go(whether they know the other language or not). All stupid comments like that will be deleted so do not waste your time.

When recording it majorly slows down. Also keep in mind that I am playing the evolutions mod which increases the price of everything, while mission payout remains the same. Therefore I am still in the starting ship with a crappy class two shield. If there is enough interest I will upload more of the missions in the German version of the game.

Edit- In this song where it says "Do you constantly dream with open eyes" I want to add a note. A while after translating this I learned that in German when they say, literally, "dreaming with open eyes" this is their equivalent for the English phrase, "Day dreaming." So that is what she is saying, "You have asked if I daydream constantly." This is the song "Ist deine liebe echt?" by Blümchen. Obviously, by the fact that I took the time to translate it, I love it. It is a great question that we all find ourselves asking the one we are with after some time. Because of that I believe we can all relate to this song. Enjoy.

This is yet another funny bug in Swat 4 that happened while we were playing on GSF. This is the stair bug. In it one of our players went a little crazy...but the fact that it was a girl doesn't mean anything...right?

Here is another wonderful song by Holki. This one only took 6 or so hours to translate :) However you will notice that there is no red text as was in Letni Rano this is simply because this time I studied more about Czech grammar and once that clicked everything else fell right into place. In other words this translation is very accurate, there is nothing here that I was unsure about. With that said I would also like to recommend you watch the music video for this song if you haven't already. It is really good, although it has nothing to do with the song. I know because I watched the music video about a 100 times to see if there was any connection between what they were doing in the video and what the song was about. There is no apparent connection, but I will not complain. The video was weird though...even though I have watched it many many times prior I just noticed yesterday that there are numbers on the top right and at the bottom...I swear they were not always there, but if they were I have no idea how I could have missed them. This is the song "Ich Lebe" by Christina Stürmer translated for you all. Now for the record, "Masochist" is a word that is the same, both spelling and meaning, in both languages. You can look it up yourself to see what it means, but the handcuffs should be a clue. Also, before anyone says anything there is one error in translation I will point out. When I say it is "I'm tired - if you are my pillow" it is actually "...you are the pillow." I translated based on the written lyrics but the more I listened I noticed that she is saying "das(the)" instead of "mein(mine)." Recently I noticed something else. When I say she says, "It brings me no luck" it should probably be, "It brings me no happiness." I say this because when I translated it I thought that the German word "Glück" was simply "Luck" but I later learned it is also their word for "Happiness." In light of the song as a whole, I think that is what she was conveying. Enjoy.

Here is a video of me doing a mission in the game Stealth Combat. It is a game that a German game dealer gave me for free after I bought some other games from her. I thought if it was free I might as well try it. It isn't bad. It is in German, but like I said, if I ever upload more of me playing games in German I will translate, which I have done. Also I speak in this video as I play, and I speak in German. I need to practice speaking in German. There is no one around where I live, that I know of, that can speak German so I don't have the chance to talk vocally to others in German, so while I know a lot I still have problems speaking it...then again I have a lot of trouble speaking English. A part of me wonders if it is just a general speech problem. Oh well I hope you like the video. The mission is also unique in that this is perhaps they only time I have played a mission in a game and won and lost at the same time...an interesting ending if I do say so myself. My life would have also lasted longer if only I could have aimed...

Edit (12/30/09), as my Czech has improved a little since translating this song I found some errors. I don't think they are saying "I wish I could be the blue sky" but rather "I wish I could be on the blue sky" I am sure the implication is she wishes she could fly. Also, the line I have in red text about "it is just sufficient to be cast upwards." It was red for a reason, my further study has allowed me to determine what they are actually saying, "It is just sufficient to fly upwards." It is also on this note that I believe my correction about them wishing they could be on the sky is valid. That said I found no other mistakes in revisiting the song. Thanks for watching and commenting. Here is my first ever attempt at translating a Czech song. It is the song Letni Rano by Holki. Native Czech speakers are free to offer advice and make corrections if there are mistakes. Also, please note that I have changed the way I do these translations. I used to use music videos, but they are A) hard to get B) copyrighted, and C) sometimes it is hard to see the subtitles in the video. Also some people wanted the lyrics in the original language. I have now set it up with a picture of the artist, the original lyrics, and my translation all in one. Please let me know what you think of this set-up.
