This drilling webcast explores a new drilling concept from Sandvik Coromant that is an efficient and valuable match for a variety of applications in ISO-P materials. Learn how its higher penetration rates can make your business more productive. VIDEO TRANSCRIPTION: Hello and welcome to the Sandvik Coromant web cast for CoroDrill 860. CoroDrill 860 is designed to ensure excellent chip control, chip evacuation, reduced cutting pressures, predictable tool life, and higher penetration rates. This solid carbide drill is a top performer for conventional drilling, chamfered holes, inclined surfaces, cross holes, stack drilling, and convex or concave surfaces in ISO-P materials up to 350 Brinell. The unique cutting edge design lowers cutting forces, ideal for weak fixturing, thin wall components, and loads on the cutting edge. The flute shape optimizes chip form for improved chip flow and evacuation. A tough new carbide extends tool life, while edge prep and new corner reinforcement provide a secure, reliable drilling operation. CoroDrill 860 geometry and grade are optimized for both long- and short-chipping steels, with standard diameters from 3-20mm, and lengths in 3-8x diameter. This high-performance drill is only recommended for use on machines that can accommodate high cutting parameters. For optimum performance, use with thru-coolant. If it is used on machines without thru-coolant, use lower cutting data to ensure proper chip evacuation. In this first test against a ...
