The summer season of the Latvian Rally Championship traditionally begins with the "Rally Talsi", which for the fourth year in turn is known as the Rally of Champions. This year, on 12th and 13th May, in Talsi the rally competition will be among six actual rally champions from five different countries — Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia and Norway. Thus it is a high time to ask the traditional question — will the Latvians defeat the titled foreign guests? Participation in the Rally Talsi 2012 is confirmed by the World Rally Championship participant Mads Ostberg with the co-driver Jonas Andersson, who in the recent Rally de Portugal won their first WRC victory and are currently third in this year's overall. The rising rally star and the Norway Rally Champion 2011 enjoyed his first round of the World Rally Championship already at the age of 19, and right now he represents the "Adapta World Rally Team". In the "Rally Talsi 2012" Ostberg will represent the team „MML Sports - ASRT" with the N4 group Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, thus evening up the technical strength with other participants of the Rally of Champions.

Mads Ostberg had to change his tyre on the second time panzerplatte. he lost about 3 minutes because the shredded tyre no longer fit in the car. Mads Ostberg musste seine Reifen auf der zum zweiten Mal ändern Panzerplatte. verlor er ca. 3 Minuten, weil die geschredderten Reifen nicht mehr in das Auto fit.
