hip hop fans should recognize the very beginning of this song as one of the many samples in Gang Starr's 1989 debut single "Words I Manifest." this track is simply amazing. everything from Dizzie's amazing trumpet playing to the infectious sound of the vibes that are sprinkled throughout the track. Dizzie Gillespie is famous for being one of the founders of Bebop, modern (along with Charlie Parker) and Cuban influenced Jazz. he died in January of 1993 but left his legacy behind. the pictures on this video show his face looking like that of a blowfish. his face looked like this because he never had any formal instruction on playing the trumpet but learned to play it anyways which damaged his face. you may recognize the style of trumpet he is playing; horn pointing upward. this was his signature and he was the very first to do this. he is also considered by many the first ever beat nick. enjoy.

This was a live recording of Dizzy and friends in Havana in 1985. "Night in Tunisia" was composed by Dizzy in 1942. In 1n 1985, Dizzy Gillespie returned to Cuba after an absence of 40 years. He was one of the first American jazz musicians to add Afro-Cuban elements to his music, and Cubans to his big band. Most notably, in the 40s, was percussionist, Chano Pozo. A then-young Arturo Sandoval (trumpet) and Gonzalo Rubalcaba (piano) sit in with Dizzy's band. Bari sax player, Sayyd Abdul al-Khabbyr, is remarkable. Walter Davis is on in this number.Great fun!

As the Oliver Twins left Codemasters in November 1993, the rights to Dizzy were owned by both parties meaning no further Dizzy games would be created after this. Within this bundle is 3 Dizzy games. The main game included is 'Dizzy The Adventurer'. This is an enhanced version of the original Dizzy game, 'Prince of the Yolkfolk'. The other two games bundled in are spins off from the main adventure series. 'Go! Dizzy Go!' being a Pac-Man style game and 'Panic Dizzy' being a Dizzy themed Puzzle game. Prior to this release, Codemaster most recent failure 'The Aladdin Deck Enhancer' for the NES (US Only) had another 3 Dizzy games in development for it. The Oliver Twins didn't want these games going to waste and began porting them over to the Sega Game Gear & Sega Master System as standalone titles. Codemasters didnt feel too comfortable about them being released individually and made them squeeze as much as they could onto one cartridge, three games. They were all set to package up 'Dizzy The Adventurer', 'Go! Dizzy Go!' and 'Wonderland Dizzy', onto the cartridge however further problems arised with Codemasters saying they didnt want two Adventure games (Wonderland & Adventurer) on one compilation. Wonderland was replaced with Dizzy Panic. The game was eventually released in November 1993, but only for the Sega Game Gear.
