Well it's 2 years since I made this film, with hindsight I really should not have shown the creature, what was I thinking..........duh. Anyway, hope you enjoy regardless! Recommend watching this over at Vimeo :D www.vimeo.com This is a story adapted from Dagon by HP Lovecraft. Content credits are listed at the end of the film, with special mention to the pose creator, Del May, for creating so many unique and emotive poses (available at her shop in-world) A very big thanks to Carlos, the narrator, for being a great voice artist, and also the easiest person in the world to get along with! The initial idea for this animation/machinima was to create a weird horror film in a noir/comic style using a digital graphic novel format. However, as the film progressed, it took on a life of its own and became more of a traditional machinima film. It is also not nearly as weird as I had imagined. Techie details: With the exception of the 2 images in the credits, no green screen has been used. Shaky bits are intentional. Pshop was used for the statue texture. No colour filters were used in this film, all colours were achieved within Second Life, including the washed out dream sequence (windlight fog). Shadows filmed with the Emerald Client. The particles of weather/fire/mist/pulsing sun were filmed inside SL. *At the moment, I think the weakest point of the film is the ending, I do like the crazy episode and the walking shots. I will probably go back and redo the end scene at some point <b>...</b>

At Ebla (Tell Mardikh), from at least 2300 BC, Dagan was the head of the city pantheon comprising some 200 deities and bore the titles BE-DINGIR-DINGIR, "Lord of the gods" and Bekalam, "Lord of the land". His consort was known only as Belatu, "Lady". Both were worshipped in a large temple complex called E-Mul, "House of the Star". One entire quarter of Ebla and one of its gates were named after Dagan. Dagan is called ti-lu ma-tim, "dew of the land" and Be-ka-na-na, possibly "Lord of Canaan". He was called lord of many cities: of Tuttul, Irim, Ma-Ne, Zarad, Uguash, Siwad, and Sipishu. Dagon has few attacks and his most annoying attack would be when he is spraying the water. One good way of avoiding this is timing invincibility frames of some dual crashes, I strongly suggest Holy Lightning here. Use thunder elements if you have, I used Summon Skeleton since it is one of the more useful spells here when you reach this point of the game.
