Cordell Jackson "The Split"
This is the first music video I ever made, back in 1989. One that I am most proud of, both in content and for the opportunity to work with the prestigious Cordell Jackson. This video we used to help get Cordell on David Letterman, Arsenio Hall, Regis & Kathie Lee, MTV, and the Jon Stewart Show. It also helped Cordell land the Budweiser commercial with Brian Setzer that premiered in a super bowl many moons ago, nearly making her a houselhold name. In 1990 we achieved a finalist award for it from The International Film & TV festival of New York. We were thrilled to work with Cordell Jackson again for our independent feature length film, Wayne County Ramblin', in which Cordell plays a prison security guard with genuine authority! Cordell was a marvelous performer and human being. She is much missed, as she passed away in 2004. Susan Cordell playing early ragtime blues piano: "Crazy Blues" by Perry Bradford. Susan and her brother, Steve Spraklen, consider themselves protégés of the late "Ragtime Bob" Darch who introduced them to Eubie Blake with whom she appeared at the festival in 1974. The performance here is of a 1920 piece learned from a piano roll arranged and cut by Eubie Blake.

At lunchtime on the 17th April 2012 ASHLEY CORDELL took it upon herself to shave her head at AUCB in order to raise money for three charities close to her heart.. 'I have taken the bold step to shave off my long luscious feminine red hair on my head for charity. I will be going to a grade one on an electric shaver. I will then grow it out without a wig or anything to disguise the fact I have no hair. I am a girl so this may alter my appearance drastically. My hair will hopefully (if in good enough condition) be donate to charity as well. I have chosen three charity for the money to be donated to. The first is Alopecia UK. I have chosen this charity because I am hoping to create awareness of this condition. The second is Alzheimer's research UK and this is because my Granddad has just been diagnosed with this condition so it is very close to my heart. As is The hospice of St Francis which is my third charity. This is my local hospice at home and they do great work for everyone in my community.'
