Would you like to read the Aeneid of Virgil in its original Latin? That is the goal I have set for myself, and these videos will allow anyone interested to follow me on that journey. The Aeneid: Book II, Lines 671-804
The Aeneid, as written by Vergil, tells the tragic story of a hero, Aeneas, who must face constant tribulations that each time press against the strength of his will. Our story picks up at the end of Book II as Aeneas's homeland, Troy, falls in ruin at the hands of the Greeks. Aeneas must either pick up his arms and fight hopelessly one last time against the onslaught of the Greeks, or he must carry his family through the shadows of the burning fatherland to safety and save the remaining Trojans. Homer Meets Virgil's Aeneid
Virgil was regarded as one of Rome's greatest poets. His Aeneid is considered a national epic of Rome and has been extremely popular from its publication to the present day. His work has influenced Western literature. His epic, the Aeneid, had followed the literary model of Homer's epic poems Iliad and Odyssey. The story is about Aeneas's search for a new homeland and his war to found a city. The Aeneid is considered Virgil's finest work and one of the most important poems in the history of western literature. Virgil worked on the Aeneid during the last ten years of his life (29-19 BC), commissioned, by Augustus. The epic poem consists of 12 books in hexameter verse which describe the journey of Aeneas, a prince fleeing the sack of Troy, to Italy, his battle with the Italian prince Turnus, and the foundation of a city - Rome.

From the Elegant Candlelight Fantasia Before the Dawn of Doom comes the most stunning film adaptation of Vergil's Aeneid, Book II, ever created. The Aeneid, as presented by Mr. Yowell's AP Vergil class, was filmed at Western Branch High School over the course of roughly two weeks. The intensive editing process took an additional two weeks. The low quality of the YouTube rendering of this film does not do justice to the stunning nature of the original footage. The Aeneid: Journey to the Underworld (Book 6) Run Time: 7 minutes, 50 seconds. Director- Enrique Avalos Writer- Virgil Synopsis: Aeneas' journey to the underworld is pertinent in several respects. Mainly, Aeneas discovers the truth as to Dido's "final moments," as well as the fate of his dear friend Deiphobus, and, of course, Anchises divulges the importance of Aeneas going to Italy. But first, Aeneas and his guide Sibyl have to be ferried by Charon, drug the serpent-dog Cerberus, and maintain a cool dignity as they manage through the many circles of the Underworld. The Aeneid Book 2: The arrival of the Trojan Horse
The Trojans find a giant horse outside their city after 10 years of war. Thinking it is a gift of the gods, they rejoice around it. They bring it into the city, with it stopping ominously at the threshold 4 times. When night falls, the signal is given and the greek fleet approaches. The soldiers emerge from the horse and slaughter the guards as well as the rest of the city.

This project was unlike any other I have previously done. I was called one day by my friends Joe Pace, Zach Pinti, and John Zirna to see if I would be interested in filming a Latin project for their class. I quickly decided to tackle the project, and it ended up being a lot of fun and very worthwhile. I learned a lot about working with scenes where there are many extras involved, fighting , and working with a detailed script.
