Adam Shankman is a hands-on guy with a passion for dance, so it's not surprising that he was deep in the mix for the Academy Award dancer auditions. The producer's first big gig was as a dancer on the Oscar telecast 20 years ago, which is why choreographing the Academy Awards (along with all his other duties) was so important to him. Today's auditions were for union and non-union professionals who were proficient in Contemporary style. And, under black clouds and torrential rains, guys and girls showed up ready to have their butts whipped. Lots of familiar faces too, if you're a So You Think You Can Dance fan. Not only were the season six winner, Russell Ferguson and runner up Kathryn McCormick there, but also fellow season sixers, Ellenore Scott and Legacy Perez. KaylaRodomski from season five and Travis Wall from season two were helping Shankman conduct the auditions and Katee Shean from season four was in the mix trying out for the Oscar show. There are big changes in store for the Awards, Shankman tells HollywoodOutbreak.com. He's tightening up the act, leaving the demanding categories to his skilled hosts, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin and saving celebs from humorless attempts at comedy. Click onto video for Adam Shankman explaining why choreographing the Oscars was so important to him and what's in store for the anything-but-tradition Academy Awards telecast. Fred Astaire & Sarah Churchill - Royal Wedding (1951) - The Audition Dance

Fred Astaire & Sarah Churchill - Royal Wedding (1951) - The Audition Dance Sarah Churchill is the daughter of Sir Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of England during World War II and one of the greatest men of the 20th century. Royal Wedding (MGM) is a 1951 Hollywood musical comedy film known for Fred Astaire's dance performance on a ceiling and with a coat rack. The story is set in London in 1947 at the time of the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and stars Astaire, Jane Powell, Peter Lawford, Sarah Churchill and Keenan Wynn, with music by Burton Lane and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. The film was directed by Stanley Donen. It was his second film and the first film he directed by himself. Astaire and Powell play a brother and sister song and dance duo, echoing the real-life theatrical relationship of Fred and Adele Astaire. Powell, who was not first choice for the role, surprised her colleagues with her all-round ability. She falls for Lawford, who plays an English aristocrat - mirroring Adele Astaire's romance and eventual marriage to Lord Charles Cavendish, son of the Duke of Devonshire. Royal Wedding is one of several MGM musicals (another being Till the Clouds Roll By) that have lapsed into public domain. As such it is widely available on Video and DVD, but the quality of these versions varies. In 2007, however, Warner Home Video issued a restored version of Royal Wedding in a DVD set along with The Belle of New York. The film was later featured in an ...

Flashdance opened to bad reviews by professional critics but was a surprise box office success, becoming the third highest grossing film of 1983 in the USA.[2][3] It had a worldwide box-office gross of more than $100 million.[4] Its soundtrack spawned several hit songs, among them "Maniac" performed by Michael Sembello and the Academy Award-winning "Flashdance... The music for "Flashdance... What a Feeling" was composed by Giorgio Moroder, and the lyrics were written by Keith Forsey and Irene Cara. The song won an Academy Award for Best Original Song, as well as a Golden Globe and numerous other awards. It also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 1983. I watched a lot of Mike Tyson fights, especially his early fights. There's something about his style, the animal rage, that seemed right for Wolverine. I kept saying to the writers, 'Don't give me long, choreographed fights for the sake of it. Don't make the fights pretty.'Jackman also had to get used to wearing Wolverine's claws.'Every day in my living room, I'd just walk around with those claws, to get used to them. I'm lucky I didn't tell them that when I auditioned.'Jackman, at 6'2½ (1. 89 m), stands a foot taller than Wolverine, who is said in the original comic book to be 5' 3'. Hence, the filmmakers were frequently forced to shoot Jackman at unusual angles or only from the waist up to make him appear shorter than he actually is, and his co-stars wore platform soles. [720p] The Idolm@ster 2 Tutorial: How to Break into Top 20 by Week 8 (Part 1)

This is a tutorial on how to get within Top 20 in the Dotop TV ranking within the first 10 weeks (only works on your second playthrough onwards as it will require some war funds). You unlock harder auditions (which gives you a lot more fans and money) by getting into the Top 50 (Tier 2) and Top 20 (Tier 3) respectively. So unlocking the hardest auditions as soon as possible is a good way to ensure you have a fair shot at attaining the True End (attain the Idol Academy grand prix award along with all the special category awards) for your chosen unit leader. During week 3 where you have to take part in your debut audition, make sure you equip either one of the three amulets highlighted in the video tutorial. These three super amulets decrease the "interest decay rate" for two of your three appeal genres (either Dance and Visual, Visual and Vocal, or Vocal and Dance). Next, equip all your best items for the second of two appeal genres affected (Visual for Dance and Visual, Vocal for Visual and Vocal, and Dance for Vocal and Dance). This is important as appeals will raise the "interest rate" of the genre to the right of it; and you don't want to raise the interest rate of the one genre your equipped amulet doesn't enhance. In my case, as you can see I've pumped my Visual genre parameter to as high as my currently unlocked accessories will allow. At the beginning of the audition, do a few appeals in the first genre that your amulet protects (in my case Dance) so as to raise ...

All of Amy Adams's main scenes in her debut film Drop Dead Gorgeous

►►► tinyurl.com ◄◄◄Amy Adams was born in Italy to American parents Kathryn and Richard Adams, while her father was a US serviceman. She was raised in a Mormon family of seven children in Castle Rock, Colorado. Adams sang in the school choir at Douglas County High School and was an apprentice dancer at a local dance company, with the ambition of becoming a ballerina. However, she worked as a greeter at The Gap and as a Hooters hostess to support herself before finding work as a dancer at Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse in such productions as "Brigadoon" and "A Chorus Line." It was there that she was spotted by a Minneapolis dinner-theater director who asked her to move to Chanhassen, Minnesota for more regional dinner theater work. Nursing a pulled muscle that kept her from dancing, she was free to audition for a part in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), which was filming nearby in Minnesota. During the filming, Kirstie Alley encouraged her to move to Los Angeles, where she soon won a part in the Fox television version of the film Cruel Intentions (1999) in the part played in the film by Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kathryn Merteuil. Although three episodes were filmed, the troubled series never aired. Instead, parts of the episodes were cobbled together and released as the direct-to-video Cruel Intentions 2 (2000) (V).
