Visit www.sunsetclassics.com to see this 1969 Porsche 912 for sale by Sunset Classic. This rare special ordered Tangerine painted Porsche 912 is a real fun sports car. The car has 38676 documented miles as shown by receipts. The options on the car include a 5 speed transmission, Blaupunkt radio, 5 Fuchs alloy wheels (6x15 inch), rear chrome accessory bar between the bumper guards, Hella 169 fog lights, halogen headlights, and rain tray under the engine lid. There have been three long term owners of the car which originally was sold in Michigan. The first owner had it Ziebart rust proofed in 1970 as shown by the receipt and the tell-tale Ziebart yellow body plugs found throughout the chassis. The Ziebart did its job as the chassis is rust free. Absolutely mean is the only way to describe this 1967 Ford Mustang fastback. Painted a beautiful smooth burgundy exterior with a new black interior sets this Stang off. Equipped with a 5.0 roller block from Ford Racing block, punched out to 347ci producing approximately 450hp. Inside is a new crank, rods, pistons, balance rotating assembly, aluminum Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valve, ported for great flow, aluminum true roller rockers, 1.70 lift with guide plates and heavy duty pushrods and screw in studs, B-303 Ford Racing cam, Cobra aluminum high rise intake, Cobra aluminum oil pan with 7 quart capacity, Barry Grant 650cfm double pumper carburetor, 1 5/8 long tube headers, and dual exhausts top this fastbacks motor off to get you down the road. In 1964 Porsche produced both the legendary 356 and the evolutionary 911 ("Type 901") models. Concurrently, with input from dealers and enthusiasts, factory engineers designed a "Type 902" variant model with 356 engine power for the European market. Considered a 912 prototype, Porsche constructed chassis number 13 394 with a four-cylinder in the winter of 1964. The factory announced the 912 to the public in early April 1965. The 912 eased the transition between the 356 and 911. With the great aerodynamics, ergonomics, style, and quality of construction as a six-cylinder 911, the 912 had other advantages as well. Fans of the 356 appreciated the similarities to that model; for example a proven 356-based flat four-cylinder fuel-efficient motor delivering 64 SAE horsepower/ liter from behind the rear axle. With the flat-four, an early 912 weighs about 250 pounds less than a standard 911 of the same year [350 pounds less than the 911S], resulting in improved front-rear weight distribution. And the combination of fuel-efficiency, low-weight, and low-drag translated the 912 into a "green" low-fuel consumption vehicle capable of up to 30 MPG highway, decades before hybrid cars. First available to European customers by June 1965, the 912 soon became a market leader, particularly in the USA. The 912 outsold the 911 almost two to one in 1966. Slideshow of all the great signs and people I met during the 912 DC Rally in 2010. Nothing like 912 2009, but 300000+ people had just traveled to DC 2 weeks earlier for 8/28. Also the weather was really depressing in the morning. Whats really awesome when you think about it, is this movement is still going strong! Even with the constant media attack. My conservative estimate says 25000 so the media should report about 200.
