This is my first attempt of making a video and the song is my first love with Swedish music. Ted GÀrdestad(1956-1997) was a very popular and one of the most important mainstream Swedish pop artists in the 1970's. This song was released when he was only 16 years old and it became a big hit. He was a very creative and multitalented person. His career continued until the 1980's, when Ted kept quite for 10 years. In 1994, he did the last album of his life. He struggled with paranoid schizophrenia for more than 11 years and at the age of 41, he jumped in front of a express train and committed suicide. This was the end of the 'musical wonderchild' of Sweden. The composition and music of this song is "jÀttebra" (very good!)!!! PS the pictures were collected from Google Image gallery.

Ted GĂ€rdestad performing "Sattelit", the Swedish entry at the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest. A former teen idol in Sweden and a frequent collaborator of Abba, Ted had the year's most rockin' tune, a catchy and dynamic FM rock number quite reminiscent of Toto's "Hold the Line" (he actually had worked with Toto members Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro). A song I have a soft spot for, really, even if is obviously quite nervous in this performance (the backing vocals are great, though). Quite sad that his life would soon take a turn for the worse, facing serious psychological problems and eventually (despite a strong career comeback in the 90s) committing suicide in 1997.

Better audio: www.youtube.com Enjoy one of Ted's best songs! Presentation made in Keynote 09, Apple's version of PowerPoint. Audio was NOT ripped from a CD into iTunes, it was taken directly from Rega's superb Apollo CD player. This has made for a far more natural and involving result, at least when listened to in-room and also on headphones. You tube will doubtless jigger the entire thing up with compression though! The Apollo is highly rhythmic, and although doesn't have the deep bass of players more than twice the price (eg the Rega Saturn at ÂŁ1300) there is enough weight on the piano keys, and sheer solidity to the vocal line to make the extra hassle of recording into Audacity or Logic worthwhile. Thanks SadLookinMoon for pointing me in the right direction to buy this CD. Thanks Ted and Ken! Your best songs show an extraordinarily spiritual insight, and "soothe the winters" of all lives you touch!
